On May 11, 1981, the best-known reggae musician of all time, Bob Marley, died. The singer went on to sell more than 75 million records and died of cancer at the age of 42.

Marley not only popularized reggae but included social problems and proposals for peace and social equality in his songs. He left us too soon.
