And Just Like That Trailer Tips

We enter June, and in the absence of content that has reached its conclusion, we resume our passion for And Just Like That and Sex and the City! Following the confirmation of a quick appearance by Samantha Jones, HBO (Max) today released the trailer for the second season, without adding much for those who did not closely follow the recordings. But let’s go to the breakdown!

“You don’t move on because you’re ready,” Carrie says in voice-over opening the box where she kept her wedding dress with Big (the one she never wore because he left it at the altar).

There is an image of Che and Miranda happy, as well as Charlotte and Harry.

“You move on because you’ve outgrown who you used to be,” she continues, with an image of Seema in a bar with a man in New York, as well as Lisa Todd Wexley and her husband trying something new in bed and smiling Nya Wallace.

“I repurposed the kitchen,” we see Carrie frying an egg in front of a shocked Charlotte. “Did you know that stoves aren’t just for storage?”

Several images of Carrie in her maiden apartment.

“I thought it was going so well. I went through that first year,” Carrie vents to her friends over coffee. “The way you’ve moved on, we’re proud of you,” Charlotte responds, with an approving smile from Miranda and a tender kiss from Seema.

“Life is too short not to try something new”, Carrie continues in off-screen showing that she hasn’t changed her habit of excessively buying expensive shoes, carrying purses in her apartment, and trying new models.

We see images of Miranda in an idyllic life with Che in Los Angeles, with Che and we hear her saying “I’m on the precipice of doing something really stupid or totally liberating”. But everything is paradise: Miranda is disgusted by the crab she found on the beach and Che has a house full of friends and Miranda is going to bed early, irritated by the noise, amending with a scene in which she says to Che “I don’t know who you are It is. Is there something you’re not telling me?”, with a new image of Miranda pensive in what appears to be her home in New York, with a suitcase on the couch.

At an Upper East dinner, Lisa Todd Wexley and her husband toast, in another scene Seema and Carrie toast and we hear Charlotte being invited to work at a gallery and replying that “my daughters need it, even more, these days”, with an image of Lily hugging (with a box of Tampax) in his hands, cut once more to Charlotte toasting with other women (and her throwing her cell phone in the blender), with a shocked Harry with his daughters seeing Charlotte completely intoxicated at home: “you drank all ?”, he asks and she answers drunk, “we had a few shots”.

There is an image of a grand ball (but from afar). Inside, we see Seema promise that “I’ll take you to the place to meet single men”, cutting to Nya and Carrie getting hit on in a bar. “I get it now,” Nya tells Miranda, “These one-night stands are amazing,” with her walking around New York. When she finishes saying this, female students say “Good afternoon, Professor Wallace” to which she responds “Good afternoon, girls”.

We go back to Carrie and Seema having fun in a bar surrounded by men. We see Carrie, Nya, Seema, Charlotte, Lisa, and Miranda dancing at a Halloween party. “We’re all blissfully unaware when our lives are about to change,” the off-screen shot of Carrie follows, showing her writing an email and looking at Franklyn sleeping in her bed. Then Miranda and Brady hug each other crying and Steve is with them.

In a long Carrie-like coat, she walks through the snow talking into the screen. We see Lisa and Husband talking – “Are you going?” “Yes, I will,” she replies. Charlotte is in the snow too and we cut to Carrie at the window. “And just so I understood,” she says over images of her neighbor meeting Seema at a beauty salon, Anthony smiling at Charlotte’s house and Carrie walking down her street, “that you never know what tomorrow will bring.” It cuts to Seema coming out of a building, the Wexleys toasting, Miranda smiling, Che onstage, a dinner party with everyone laughing, and Carrie’s email text to Aidan: “Hello stranger, remember me? If that’s still your email, it’s me Carrie. I was just thinking about how you are the other day. I would love to hear from you,” she commands. We cut to Carrie and Aidan having dinner together and him saying, “Sitting here with you is like 10 years…” He snaps his fingers and they both laugh.

The trailer ends warning that the series premieres on the 22nd.

There’s more we can deduce, but what do you think?
