After talking about the possibilities of the winners of the Drama category – which everyone agrees will be a ‘massacre’ of Succession – in Comedy we will have a little more ‘competition’, although some consider it possible that Ted Lasso could have hegemony, it will not be washed away.
Let’s go to what Variety considers:

Comedy
Series
Abbott Elementary
Barry
The Bear
The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Only Murders in the Building
Shrinking
Ted Lasso
Wednesday
Here in Brazil, Abbott Elementary is not the fever in the US, because it’s on ABC over there and here it’s on a digital platform. It’s The Office revisited in a school, I don’t embark on the fever. On the other hand, all the other competitors I like. The Bear is far from laughing, and I love Only Murders in the Building, but Variety bets on Abbott Elementary and I also think it’s a favorite series.
Actor
Bill Hader, Barry
Steve Martin, Only Murders in the Building
Martin Short, Only Murders in the Building
Jason Segel, Shrinking
Jason Sudeikis, Ted Lasso
Jeremy Allen White, The Bear
Once again with reservations that The Bear is not a comedy, there is no one to take away from Jeremy Allen White on stage. He is the winner.
Actress
Christina Applegate, Dead to Me
Rachel Brosnahan, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Quinta Brunson, Abbott Elementary
Bridget Everett, Somebody Somewhere
Elle Fanning, The Great
Natasha Lyonne, Poker Face
A category with an announced winner, fellow showrunner of Abbott Elementary, Quinta Brunson. It’s winning everything. An opportunity not to be missed to honor Christina Applegate in her farewell.

Supporting actor
Anthony Carrigan, Barry
Phil Dunster, Ted Lasso
Harrison Ford, Shrinking
Brett Goldstein, Ted Lasso
Tony Shalhoub, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Tyler James Williams, Abbott Elementary
Henry Winkler, Barry
Bowen Yang, Saturday Night Live
Variety bets on Harrison Ford‘s nomination and victory for Shrinking. It must be because of the “novelty” because although it’s fine, it’s overkill. For me, it had to be Anthony Carrigan, for everything he did in Barry.
Supporting actress
Alex Borstein, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Ayo Edebiri, The Bear
Sarah Goldberg, Barry
Janelle James, Abbott Elementary
Sheryl Lee Ralph, Abbott Elementary
Juno Temple, Ted Lasso
Hannah Waddingham, Ted Lasso
Jessica Williams, Shrinking
Another announced victory for Abbott Elementary, with Janelle James. Once again that would root for Sarah Goldberg in Barry.
Guest Actor
Luke Kirby, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Nathan Lane, Only Murders in the Building
Steve Martin & Martin Short, Saturday Night Live
Leslie Odom Jr., Abbott Elementary
Pedro Pascal, Saturday Night Live
Brad Pitt, Dave
Variety bets on a repeat of Luke Kirby as Lenny Bruce in The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel. I agree!

Guest Actress
Quinta Brunson, Saturday Night Live
Taraji P. Henson, Abbott Elementary
Judith Light, Poker Face
Shirley MacLaine, Only Murders in the Building
Sarah Niles, Ted Lasso
Harriet Walter, Ted Lasso
Harriet Walter as a bad mother in drama and comedy shows the versatility of this great actress, but Variety’s bet is on Taraji’s victory for whom? Wins who sighed Abbott Elementary…
Direction
Randall Einhorn, Abbott Elementary
Bill Hader, Barry
Christopher Storer, The Bear
Amy Sherman-Palladino, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
James Ponsoldt, Shrinking
Declan Lowney, Ted Lasso
Tim Burton, Wednesday
Although the list is expressive, I agree with Variety that it can not be from Bill Hader. His signature on Barry was one of the highlights of a series that was never obvious and always creative.
Writing
Quinta Brunson, Abbott Elementary
Christopher Storer, The Bear
Amy Sherman-Palladino, Daniel Palladino, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel
Rian Johnson, Poker Face
Bill Lawrence, Jason Segel, Brett Goldstein, Shrinking
Joe Kelly, Jason Sudeikis, Brendan Hu, Ted Lasso
Ayo Edebiri, Shana Gohd, What We Do in the Shadows
And script? Of course, it’s another disputed category, and Americans are betting on Abbott Elementary, but I would really like Ted Lasso‘s trio to win this one. It will be?
