One of the highlights in the Marvel universe has been the entry of actress Emilia Clarke into the franchise, accompanied behind the scenes by the recordings of Secret Invasion and celebrated with the premiere of the series now in June 2023. The fan base of Daenerys Targaryen, which is fiercely faithful to the actress, maintains her name as a daily trending topic on Twitter and also follows her professional steps (the personal ones she manages to maintain a mantle of discretion) so that affection can easily be mistaken as a plague. After all, the shadow of Khaleesi still covers every step of the actress, even almost five years after the end of Game of Thrones (and, for her, almost six that said goodbye to the character). As G’iah, daughter of Talos (Ben Mendelsohn) and a Krull, Emilia has resurfaced dark, dark, and rebellious. G’iah has had enough of the empty promises of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Captain Marvel (Brie Larson) and has teamed up with the antagonist, Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) in an attack on the Earthlings. Will G’iah erase Danny?

Emilia Clarke rose to world stardom as the last Targaryen when she had barely started her professional career, in her early 20s. Since then, he has overcome a brain tumor, and the sudden death of his father in 2016, joined two other major film franchises – The Terminator and Star Wars – has made millionaire advertising campaigns (today he is the face of Clinique), and ventured into romantic comedies, dramas, and theater plays, but nothing prevents her from being reminded of her first role.
Ironically, physically Emilia is quite different from Daenerys, starting with her hair color. Initially, this helped her navigate the GOT craze with some anonymity, as without the wig it was not easy to identify. Gone are those days, but there is still a mix of gratitude for the love of fans and the desire to reinvent itself.

In the comics, G’iah is an agent and the mother of three daughters with her partner and another Earth agent, KIrr. Just when one of her daughters appears to have been “killed” by the secret organization Project Blossom, which goes after Skrulls in disguise. Widowed after a betrayal that costs Klrr’s life, she takes revenge and hides from the authorities, maintaining her mission to track down the rest of the members of Project Blossom. This sad narrative is unlikely to be part of Secret Invasion and it’s uncertain which side she’ll fight in the six episodes. It doesn’t matter, what the fans celebrate “the return of Khaleesi”. Surely if she could physically transform like G’iah her fate would have been different…
