Super Emilia in Secret Invasion

It looked ready Meme. And some I tried to make myself…

In a short season that was more criticized than praised by die-hard fans, Secret Invasion concluded its run with the same stretched and unfinished feel as it began. With help from G’iah (Emilia Clarke), Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) defeats Gravik (Kingsley Ben-Adir) and Raava/Rhodey (Don Cheadle) and leaves Earth again. It’s the best way to explain why basically the show’s challenge wasn’t any more complicated than that: Raava and Gravik wanted to wipe out the humans and take over Earth. They lost.

The most predictable, even if fun, moment was the clash between Super G’iah and Super Gravik, where they gather so many easter eggs of the powers they came to have: from Thanos to Thor.

But let’s go back. Fury had explained to Sonya (Olivia Colman) what’s going on that the Skrull invasion is still on pause: the dispute over access to the Avengers’ DNA. Gravik – who helped collect the material – wants to use it, and without logical explanation, Sonya doesn’t question or reach for the vial. Next, we see Fury in two places at once: with Sonya in the hospital and in Russia meeting Gravik.

At the hospital, an outdated Rhodey with the world culture of not morally harassing anyone, not being sexist or aggressive, seems not to arouse the distrust of anyone around him. But Sonya is Sonya, helps Fury and the President is saved, with Raava being eliminated. However, the plan backfires because instead of being grateful for being saved, the President declares World War on the Skrulls and this will be a problem to be dealt with in other films.

The Fury/G’iah clash is grandiose, as expected, but quick. She manages to beat Gravik and on the way out she is recruited by Sonya for some yet unexplained project.

Fury returns to the space station accompanied by his wife, who will no longer wear Priscilla’s disguise.

The next phase will deal with the issue of the Skrulls without Emilia Clarke on the scene, but fans could finally enjoy her in action and fight scenes, something long awaited. And of course, the long-awaited Game of Thrones reunion at some point. It doesn’t hurt to dream, right?
