The news backstage tension is back

The Morning Show brought awards and prestige to Apple TV Plus, with a proposal to address female empowerment, #metoo, and eventually the tragic consequences of cancel culture. There are many twists and turns, no one is exactly transparent and now it’s coming back for its 3rd season with new characters and many challenges.

Gone are the days when one of America’s most famous anchors (Steve Carrell) was fired for sexual harassment. Her co-anchor, Alex Levy (Jennifer Aniston) has to fight to secure the bench and disputes the position with a new field reporter Bradley Jackson (Reese Witherspoon) who may eventually replace her. From enemies to friends and again opponents, the relationship between the two was never exactly “calm”. With nearly two years between seasons, there’s a lot of anticipation to see what happens next.

One of the novelties is the entry of Jon Hamm as Paul Marks, the executive who will lead the station arrives just in time when the network undergoes a cyber attack that exposes the secrets of employees. Laura (Julianna Margulies) will have to deal with Bradley now involved with Cory (Billy Crudup).

While in season 2 topics such as COVID-19 were included, now the issue revolves around cybersecurity, in particular on social media platforms and journalism. The energy is tense – as always – what more surprises could be in store for us? The premiere is on the 13th of September.
