The wheel turns and the fantasy grows

The Wheel of Time is a super production from Amazon Prime Video that I consider far superior to Rings of Power. Pure fantasy, that is, niched down to the last hair and with a confusing plot, after all, telling a story with a linear narrative is no longer fashionable and now the thing is to indulge in different journeys through time to follow the plots, but basically, we saw the search for a “witch,” or an Aes Sedai, Moiraine (Rosamund Pike), for the Dragon Reborn, who is essential to the battle against the dark forces of the world. She has five options and we end the first season discovering that Rand Al’Thor is the “chosen one” and now we follow his development journey.

Just like The Rings of Power, The Wheel of Time also has a literary origin full of incredible characters and a rich imaginary world that mixes monsters and magicians. There are 14 books, and there is a lot to happen! And Rosamund Pike is still wonderful, of course.

The content isn’t easy, but if you let it, it’s fun. Everyone is preparing for the big battle, with each one still without mastering their skills and there is not a single protagonist or good guy without flaws. The advantage of the second season, besides already knowing the various characters, is that the pace is easier to follow. And there’s more than we thought we knew about Moiraine, how she got so cold and dry.

Within the fantasy universe, nothing beats the crazy creativity of Raised by Wolves, it’s true, it doesn’t even reach the depth of House of the Dragon, but it’s more fun than The Witcher and, obviously, The Rings of Power. It’s too early to celebrate, but in the absence of an option, here’s a tip!
