Dune: Sisterhood: shooting to be resumed

Since last year I’ve been here to post about Dune: Sisterhood, the HBO Max series that had a super cast and had great promise for 2023 until the strikes put everything in check. But not much? The recordings were being carried out in Hungary and following the rules of the British union, therefore, as with House of the Dragon, work did not stop. Yes, the strikes by writers and actors in Hollywood continue without finding an alternative.

Dune: The Sisterhood is set about 10,000 years before the story of the film. Based on the novel Sisterhood of Dune by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson, the show is about a pair of Harkonnen sisters (Emily Watson and Olivia Williams) who start the mysterious Bene Gesserit order. In addition to the two actresses, the cast includes Travis Fimmel, Mark Strong, and Christopher Walken, among others. Indira Varma, one of the original names confirmed, was replaced by Jodhi May. Another one who left was the director, Johan Renck and now Anna Foerster is in charge.

The idea – three years ago – was that the Dune: The Sisterhood series would debut close to the second Dune film, which hits theaters in November 2023. Many question if the film doesn’t perform as expected (difficult!) if it will get in the way of interest in the series. Be that as it may, reports say that filming will resume after the November release and that the hiatus was already planned, our source said. Do you know what I regret? Staying private for a while longer with Travis off the air! After the cancellation of Raised by Wolves, he has still been making films in Australia, but fans miss him. But of course, the biggest hope is for the strikes to come to an end with effective changes in the business world.
