In the month of witches, the new Haunted Mansion film entertains

October is international Halloween month, which makes platforms and cinemas bring out horror or our magical friends. At Disney, there is an option to laugh and have fun, even more so if you have already been to the amusement park where one of the most traditional rides of all is located: The Haunted Mansion.

The new version – the previous one had Eddie Murphy in the cast and is also on the platform – is detailed with all the elements of the attraction, tying them together one by one in a way that if you’ve already been there you’ll recognize it, and if you haven’t yet, you’ll want to go. Certainly, if one day I return to Orlando I will look at the Mansion with different eyes!

The film, as I mentioned, is inspired by the theme park’s Haunted Mansion, but features a woman (Rosario Dawson) and her son (Chase W. Dillon) who inadvertently buy the mansion without even imagining that it is haunted. The problem isn’t even the ghosts that make coexistence impossible, but once you enter, they chase you even outside. So you need to recruit a motley crew of “spiritual experts” to help rid your home of supernatural invaders. A simple premise that is a reason for a series of fun situations, especially thanks to Tiffany Haddish and a great LaKeith Stanfield.

The script by Kate Dippold, from Ghostbusters, includes situations that are reminiscent of Beetlejuice, which Winona Ryder‘s quick participation reinforces and includes appearances by Jamie Lee Curtis and Jared Leto as well. It doesn’t make us cry with laughter, or die of fear, but it’s perfectly entertaining. Definitely worth seeing with the family! Here’s a tip for the upcoming Halloween.
