Madonna gave us quite a scare in 2023. In the midst of rehearsals for the tour celebrating her 40th anniversary, she almost died. Before, she was criticized for the plasticized look that divides fans: has she aged? (as if that were a problem) did she overdo the procedures? It doesn’t matter, she is majesty and less than two months away from turning 65, she is where she feels most comfortable: on stage. That’s right, today, October 14th, Madonna begins her Celebration Tour.
The world premiere (the show will possibly also come to Brazil at some point in 2024) will be in London, later today, and social media will be buzzing in a few hours about what the queen will come up with on stage. Yes, Madonna’s show is never for beginners, even less celebrating her protagonism in four decades.
The London season is six nights sold out. No less than 17 costume changes and another 40 hits are expected in the repertoire, in addition to the participation of four of their children. According to reports, there is a great tribute to the city of New York, which is the singer’s base and where she exploded. The stages will be divided into “grids” following the map of Manhattan, with Uptown, Downtown, Midtown, East and West regions.
Obviously, we will have new versions of Like a Virgin, Holiday, Into the Groove, Vogue, Like a Prayer, and other classics, but the biggest expectation is to remember the iconic looks like the clone bustier, among others. Excited?
