When The White Lotus debuted in 2020, at the height of the pandemic and uncertainty, even more so, of isolation, that mystery in the luxury resort in Hawaii conquered the world. With a crime that is announced at the beginning, the story reverses so that we try to discover “who died” at the same time as “who killed”, in a delicious exercise in theories and guesswork.

There were so many awards and accolades that two years later we returned to the formula, but in a different hotel from The White Lotus chain, now in southern Italy. The success was even greater, with a plot in the background extending (we will talk separately in a new post) and in uncertain times of investment, having a third season confirmed immediately is something increasingly rare, but justified. The showrunner, Mike White, warned that the setting would now be Thailand, the question remained: who would return? Who debuts?

Well, in the first two seasons, the fun and tragic guest Tanya McQuoid (Jenniffer Coolidge) was on the air, including the husband she met in Hawaii and who we suspect ordered her death in Italy. As the seasons are independent, we won’t necessarily have this plot continue, but we know that we will meet at least ONE familiar face again, that of Belinda (Natasha Rothwell).

The beautician, who was upset with Tanya in the 1st season, after the millionaire said she was interested in investing in her beauty project, only to disappear without a response, was one of the friendly and beloved characters of the hotel staff, her trip to Thailand is a sufficient link for us to know more about the repercussions of the death of the manager of the Hawaiian branch, who is not mentioned in Italy. Furthermore, it must be death and different culprits.

So far, big names like Jason Isaacs and Carrie Coon are alongside Leslie Bibb, Dom Hetrakul, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey and Tayme Thapthimthong. Recordings will begin next month, in Koh Samui, Phuket, and Bangkok, Thailand. For fans of The Gilded Age, it will be great to see Carrie Coon again in modern times. Like the other HBO series, with the 3rd season ordered, it still has to go through scripting and recording, it has time. We appreciate it, of course!

There were rumors today on social media that Rosamund Pike would also be in the cast. It will be? There’s nothing official, but we’ll follow!
