We celebrate the big winners of the Emmy Awards, which means practically the cast of the series The Bear, Succession, and Beef, the big favorites confirmed. However, we are in January 2024, and these winners are those of the 75th Emmy Awards, in other words: 2022. That’s right, the January 15th party took place four months after the original date, in September 2023, as is traditional for the Emmys, the only awards show “outside” the party circuit. This means that, in 2024, we will have two Emmy Awards and in June 2024, more precisely on June 4th, we will know the year’s nominees. Therefore, we can go back to speculating, as we always do about who should emerge at the new and upcoming ceremony!

It will be a strange Emmy Awards, we can anticipate. Although the three winning productions had strong competitors in all categories last year, 2024 will have the biggest impact on last year’s interruptions, there are fewer releases, as many series said goodbye in 2023! All of this impacts the prediction of favorites.
The Emmy calendar follows these dates: until January 25th, platforms and channels submit their content for consideration. Voting only begins on April 4th and ends on the 23rd, but the nominees are only announced on June 4th. And the party? We will have a new date! That’s right, no September, the 76th Emmy Awards are scheduled for July 27, 2024.

Given these deadlines, basically, everything that was released between June 2023 and January 2024 has a chance at the Emmys. Unfortunately, deadlines indicate that House of the Dragon, whose premiere rumors are giving August as the return month, is out of the race, but the final season of The Crown promises to rekindle the series’ chances of winning more awards, including Elizabeth Debicki as Princess Diana and, without a doubt, Leslie Manville as Princess Margaret. Another one who has the potential to be there at his farewell is The Great, although he was overlooked this year.
We should add that The Gilded Age finally had a chance to get some nominations besides costumes, especially Cynthia Nixon, for her great performance as Ada Brooks Forte. From HBO Max, Julia, the series about Julia Child, could be among the potential celebrations of the year in terms of comedy.

A Murder at The End Of The World can reinforce the stardom of Emma Corrin (Winner in the past) and The World After Us can bring Julia Roberts among the nominees for Best Drama Actress in Miniseries, and glamor for a party. Even the new season of True Detective: Night Country should be on the list, but my bet is on Ryan Murphy‘s series that will debut soon: Capote vs The Swans, a period drama with a great cast.
Although it’s not my favorite, Lessons in Chemistry, which was at the Golden Globes and Critic’s Choices Awards, will certainly be at the next Emmys, including Brie Larson. This means that Gary Oldman, the star of Slow Horses, can represent the series at the party too.

Loki has a chance to be on the list, as does Echo, both still showing Marvel’s strength in the most arid phase of superheroes. Will Ahsoka be included in some way? It’s possible since Obi-Wan Kenobi and Andor were among the best series in 2023.
Do you know who will stand out at the party with the least competition? The Morning Show. Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, and Billy Crudup will not only be nominated, but they have a greater opportunity to take the stage in 2024, especially Billy.
I’m hoping that 2024 will be the year of recognition for Only Murders in The Building although The Bear is still riding the wave of popularity and will be nominated for its second season, without a doubt. Yes, let’s focus: their party in January’s Emmys was for the first season, the one from 2022. That’s right: there’s still more to guarantee favoritism in July for its second season launched in 2023.

If we want to anticipate a little more about who should be at the 76th Emmy Awards, the list of nominees for the Critic’s Choice Awards was much closer to what it may include: the mini A Small Light should be there, and we cannot forget that without so many titles, the farewell to Physical, although weaker, might at least earn Rose Byrne recognition.
Sci-Fi highlights have some window of entry, such as Silo and The Wheel of Time, which we cannot rule out. Frasier‘s return didn’t have the impact of the original, but who knows?
Going back, it could be that Special Ops: Lioness will also feature Zoe Saldaña and Nicole Kidman at the party, without forgetting Dopesick, who should also be in the Drama category.

I find it difficult that And Just Like That, The Idol, or Secret Invasion are among the nominees, but it could be that The Full Circle will enter. And I’m rooting for the hilarious The White House Plumbers to come in.
The Crowded House should be nominated by Tom Holland and Billions, in its farewell year, could enter drama categories equally.
And that’s more or less it, folks. There are not many launches other than these with potential. The big vacuum here is the Drama category, which – an impossible joke to avoid – has not yet created a successor to Succession. Despite its quality, The Crown has lost its breath and impact, no one can stand the British Royal Family’s soap opera anymore, but no other major production has taken the step yet. Billions could, but it seems unlikely to me and The Gilded Age gained popularity, but it is soap operatic and less impactful than Succession, which seems to me like we will have a year of The Morning Show winning more awards.
Comedy? The Bear once again. And yes, when a favorite emerges, for the public at home the event becomes boring, as if we were watching from afar the party of someone who didn’t invite us. Anyway, how about me being a futurologist?
