There are only a few months left until we return to Westeros and the 2nd season of House of the Dragon, with several news popping up on social media ranging from the premiere date to changes to the book. Do they match? We will see.

Release date/ Re-recordings
The information kind of matches the fact that this week, the last of February, they started recording some scenes from House of the Dragon again. The work is scheduled to continue until at least the end of March, so there would be little time for the dream to return in June.
On the other hand, MAX (ex-HBO) always announces it as a “summer” release (which starts in June in the Northern Hemisphere), and in interviews, executives have already mentioned the “early summer”, which confirms the information that the premiere it would even be in four months.
Personally, I still bet on the second half of the year: it would give greater proximity and visibility to the 2025 awards season.

Teaser
At the end of the year, a teaser lasting a few minutes drove fans of the franchise crazy. Some images and dialogues do not reveal much (in fact, nothing) and do not give spoilers for those who are not aware of some details and know the books.
The teaser for the 2nd season has an apparent advantage over the 1st: while when House of the Dragon was released most of the images used in the trailer were episodes 1 and 5, the next one seems to show more of what the season will be like. Lots of battles, blood, and drama. Still, it doesn’t tell us much.
What is being considered by Reddit
I waited until it was closer to launch to consider what was selected by Reddit, in the House of the Dragon community, as plausible leaks.
Here goes:
Episode 1
Winterfell. The story of Cregan Stark, preparing for his importance in the future.
Rhaenyra searches for Luke’s remains. It’s the image of her on the beach, which we saw in the teaser. She is devastated and ends up on her knees, crying over her son’s death.
Daemon takes Harrenhall.
Jace arrives in the Vale and meets Lady Jeyne Arryn.
Daemon sneaks into King’s Landing and hires Blood and Cheese.
An eye for an eye, blood for blood…

Episode 2
Jaehaerys’ funeral, the people revolting at Rhaenyra’s cruelty.
The Battle of the Burning Mill.
Alys Rivers and Simon Strong.
Addam and Alyn Velaryon. “Seasmoke following Addam like a puppy.”
The duel of the Cargyll twins.
Episode 3
Aegon II reigns in King’s Landing.
Entry of Ulf, who drunkenly brags about being a Targaryen bastard.
Hugh is also featured in this episode.

Episode 4
Loot of Duskendale. Criston beheads Lord Darklyn, who said earlier: “Is there no honor left in this world, Cole?”
Battle of Rook’s Rest, which has generated other speculation online because there is a scene where Ser Criston Cole kneels next to a burned body, supposedly that of Rhaenys Velaryon.
Episode 5
Greens celebrate the victory, parading Meleys’ head through the streets.
Larys takes care of Aegon, who survived the Dragonfire
Episode 6
Jason Lannister and Lord Lefford meet at the Golden Tooth
Addam claims Seasmoke
Episode 7
Addam and Rhaenyra meet/confront each other on Dragonstone Beach at the beginning of the episode. Addam swears loyalty to her.
Rhaenyra and Jace teach the “seeds” how to approach and claim dragons.
Alicent goes for a cathartic swim in a lake in the Royal Forest
Aegon, the youngest, and Rhaena will travel to the Vale and meet Jeyne Arryn. Presumably, Joffrey and Viserys are also with them.
Daemon surveys his army at Harrenhal, with men from houses Darry, Mooton, Mallister, Piper, Vance, Bracken, Blackwood, and Strong.
Oscar Tully will appear to Daemon and say that they cannot enter the war until Lord Grover dies
Episode 8
Rhaenyra and Daemon meet at Harrenhall at the beginning of the episode
Rhaenyra and Alicent face off at Dragonstone

“Confirmed” information, uncertain episodes
Some scenes have not yet been confirmed in specific episodes, but that would have been recorded:
- Otto will personally travel to Tyrosh and personally meet with the Triarchy
- We will meet Alfred Broom, who apparently has a considerable role
- Ser Corlys Velaryon will spend much of the season repairing his ship.
- There will be a riot in King’s Landing where Alicent and Helaena will be attacked
- Elinda Massey will play a mysterious hooded woman playing with food carts in King’s Landing
- We will meet a character called Cley (substitute for Luther Largent)
- The Brothel Madam from the first season will return in some episodes
- The servant raped by Aegon II in season 1, Dyanna, appears in episodes 5 and 6 but may appear in two more
- We will have a Flashback of a White Walker
- Jace and Cregan set up camp in a snowy forest and have a night scene there with men from the Night’s Watch.
- Jace and Cregan travel to the Wall
- Jace and Baela will have scenes together in Dragonstone
- A village is burned at night

The possibilities
Those who read the book feel that many things are missing, “saved” for a new season, but the fact is that there is plenty of emotion guaranteed if this is indeed the order of the episodes.
Likely, the season will actually end with Rhaenyra’s arrival in King’s Landing, but I’m not sure if we’ll see, for example, Otto’s execution at this stage. Maybe at the beginning of season three?
What do you think? Do the leaks look legit?
