Speculation about who the new James Bond will be is a global sport of bringing together all the most interesting British talents of the moment and imagining him as the most famous spy in the British secret service. And since Daniel Craig retired from “position,” the Internet has been on fire with possible names. Well, it looks like we’ll soon know the chosen one.
That’s right, but to do so, we have to consider the Daily Mail and The Sun as sources, which leaves us in doubt. According to the newspaper, actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson was formally invited to take over the franchise and if he signs the contract, the announcement will be made, making the new 007 official.

If it becomes official that Aaron will be the spy, he will be the seventh actor to join the select team of actors whose international fame increased fivefold after playing James Bond on screen and the youngest of all too.
At just 33 years old, Aaron Taylor-Johnson started out as a child actor in the film Kick-Ass and won over critics playing a young John Lennon in the film The Nowhere Boy, in which he met his wife, director Sam Taylor-Johnson. Ironic, that in 2012 the two were photographed on the red carpet for the film Skyfall. Who would have thought that in 12 years he could be the star of the franchise?

Competition for the role was fierce, with Aaron’s name coming up right in the final stretch, more or less a year ago. The favorites – for years – have been Tom Hardy, Henry Cavill, and Idris Elba, but all are over 40 and considered “old”.
Even Cillian Murphy, in vogue with his Oscar and friend Christopher Nolan, had to respond that he didn’t believe he was on the list (but on social media, he was leading!) precisely because of his age. I will confess that seeing Nolan walking with Barbara Brocolli made me imagine that he, a fan of the franchise, could become the next director, and having Cillian in the cast, as James or the antagonist, could be something very close to reality…

Another clear favorite on social media was Regé-Jean Page, but the same can be said of Paul Mescal and James Norton. Recently, even Theo James joined the betting exchange.
Watching the announcements that should be coming. I won’t be dissatisfied with Aaron Taylor-Johnson as James Bond. Who would you prefer?
