MAX’s coordinated campaign for the launch of the second season of House of the Dragon has already started BRILLIANTLY, giving each side’s versions of the civil war.
In Queen Rhaenyra’s view, the fight is for the right of succession communicated in life by King Viserys and sworn by all Lords of Westeros. Now there is also, as everyone says, the element of Revenge.

“My father chose me”, is the first sentence of the trailer. “He stuck to his decision until his death,” she continued.
We see the Council of Blacks gathered at an impromptu funeral for Lucerys. She has more hate than tears and that’s important.
“Yet it is Alicent’s son who sits on my Throne,” she growls.
See the emphasis on the words: “son of Alicent”, not “my brother” or “son of Viserys”. For Rhaenyra, there is no family connection, and the Hightowers, while blood-connected to the Targaryens, are not one of them.
“I intend to fight in this war and win it”, warns the Queen of the black team.
The other images show a more determined Rhaenyra, taking us to Winterfell, with Jacaerys on the Wall. We get a glimpse of Freddie Fox’s entrance as Gwayne Hightower, the arrogance of Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) and Aegon, and the concern of Otto (Rhys Iphans) and Alicent (Olivia Cooke). Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) still recovering and warning that it is necessary to “crush the beast” to win the battles.
The images of Daemon (Matt Smith) arriving at Harrenhall, Helaena crying for her children, and more battles (very moving!), but the main warning comes from Rhaenys (Eve Best) to Rhaenyra: “When the desire to kill and burn takes over counts and the reason is forgotten, not even we will remember the reason for the War”.
“We fight for our Queen”, is the closing motto (with the twins’ duel).
“I fear for what I started,” Rhaenyra confesses.

Now we will have to wait until June 16th.
In general, the trailer is much richer than what we had in the first season, the costumes look more refined and the dragons look incredible.
