Egg, Daemon, Ser Criston, and Jeyne: the warm-up of House of the Dragon

From now until June 16th, it’s only going to get better for House of the Dragon fans. Even more so at Comicon in Mexico, much of the cast has already been confirmed, which enhances the launch of the final trailer for the second season. This, in just 4 days!

Well, May marks the superheat of the series, which balances the news of many projects being shelved. Let’s go to the recap of May 2, 2024.

Look at her! Amanda Colin as Jeyne Arryn

Those who followed Raised by Wolves are, like me, looking forward to the Danish actress’s participation in the world of Westeros. Amanda, who stood out in independent cinema in her country and was great in the MAX series, comes as the controversial and incredible Jeyne Arryn, “Lady of the Eyrie”. Rhaenyra’s cousin on her mother’s side, she is a mysterious character in the books. She likes men as well as women, she could have seduced Lucaerys and been Jessamyn Redfort’s lover. We’ll see which one or both!

A fun side for those who know the actress is that just as Mother from Raised by Wolves is in House of the Dragon, so is Father. Abubakar Salim was confirmed as Alyn Velaryon, and he obviously made the joke today on social media.

Amanda Colin would already have everything to stand out in House of the Dragon but her passage already promises to be one of the best. I already tried to anticipate what she would look like in blue (the colors of the Valley), but seeing her first official photo was exciting. 50 days left!

Matt Smith and Fabien Frankel review Season 1

Well, the partners and antagonists are giving us a quick chat a week with short videos where they review and comment on the first season. We had Aegon (Tom Glynn-Carney) and Aemond (Ewan Mitchell) talking about the differences between aligned and competing brothers.

Discovering that the battle scenes are “sword ballets” was fun and accurate!

Matt Smith and Fabien Frankel are funny when they remember how they become friends on set even though their characters hate each other so intensely on screen. At least they agree with the admiration for Milly Milcock, the young Rhaenyra. “Our Supergirl“, recalled and joked Fabien. “A legend”, added Matt. It’s… Rhaenyra is everything and more.

Rhaenycent: How Rhaenyra and Alicent came to antagonize

In the video that remembers the friendship and contextualizes the rivalry between Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen, none of the four actresses contribute information. But still, the video is important to keep us updated on the two best friends’ mutual hatred.

On the outside, our little Egg already looks like the book!

Dexter Soll Ansel, our little Egg from The Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, left his shaved hair look on record. Yes, at less than 10 years old he is already making sacrifices for his art really shaving his hair for the role. And what do we think? It looked exactly like George R. R. Martin‘s description.

Starting recording the series now means we can expect the premiere a year after House of the Dragon. We have never had so much in such a short time!

What is missing?

In the next trailer, the final one, we will certainly have more of the new faces and hints of what’s to come. The anxiety only increases!
