As we follow the recordings of the 3rd season of And Just Like That, which began in May 2024, it’s worth a recap of what’s left in the story. Who agrees?

Carrie at the new address

After more than 30 years with her studio at 66 Perry Street, Carrie got rid of the property and moved to a townhouse that she thought of sharing with Aidan, only to go through the break-up of the relationship (permanent?) and now be alone in an address new. New stories, of course!

And how is Aidan?

With the death of Mr. Big (Chris Noth), Carrie went through a long period of mourning and had her occasional affairs but got back together with the second love of her life, Aidan (John Corbett). In theory more mature, everything fell into place quickly but they surprised us when they separated for the third time. Aidan needs to be with his teenage son, who is going through problems, so he won’t go back to New York. And Carrie? Well, don’t even think about leaving Manhattan Island.

Aidan, positive, asks her to wait “five years”, but they can go by quickly and it’s still FIVE YEARS. So she still loves her ex, but she has a kitten and a life ready for a new love, but the truth is that it’s not clear what their future will be like in the coming seasons.

Have we lost Che and Steve?

Miranda’s (Cynthia Nixon) love confusion gave us two casualties: Che Diaz (Sara Ramirez) – who doesn’t return for the third stage – and probably Steve (David Eigenberg). They both went through some rough patches, but we said goodbye to them with the former couple agreeing to be friends after their divorce. I don’t expect to see much of him in this next phase.

Anthony gained prominence and a quiet love

The unexpected death of actor Willie Garson disrupted the romance between Stanford and Anthony (Mario Cantone), but now he is firm and strong with Giuseppe (Sebastiano Pigazzi). The two were with Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) during the recording of the new season. Together and happy!

Charlotte’s daughters’ adolescence
Carrie is the godmother of Lily Goldenblatt and a present aunt of Rose “Rock” Goldenblatt, Charlotte and Harry’s daughters, who evolved as teenagers. First Rose, who didn’t want to be defined by gender adopted the name “Rock”, confusing her parents.

Lily, the disciplined daughter, was on a rebellious spiral too: she gave up pursuing a career in classical music and started flirting with deprê pop. She also had her sexual debut, with Miranda’s son, Brady. Will it be romance or just temporary? Let’s find out.

Nya and Che leave, and Mary enters

The big repercussion in anticipation of the next season was the exclusion of Che, the comedian who messed up Miranda’s life, was a friend of Carrie’s, and who kind of lost her role. Prejudices suspect that it is a rejection of the character’s sexuality, but as a fan of the series, I see it as a consequence of a narrative full of unnecessary flaws that were on Miranda’s part, not Che’s. I’m sorry, I wasn’t averse to the podcaster but essentially she didn’t enter anyone’s life permanently.

Nya Wallace, Karen Pittman‘s character, also clashed and is another character from Miranda’s arc. Her personal life was very heavy and sad compared to others: betrayed, unable to have children, and frustrated by this, she found love again with chef Michelin (Toussaint Feldman), which hinted at a possible romance. Her departure is due to conflict and schedule, after all, Karen has a prominent role on The Morning Show. She fulfilled her role in And Just Like That.

The fact that Rosie O’Donnell enters as “Mary”, but that nothing beyond that has been revealed, makes us curious. Would she be part of Carrie’s new life? Or Miranda? We’ll soon know…

Lisa and Seema: approved and now essential

If Nya and Che kind of ran into the plot problems involving Miranda, those that came via Carrie and Charlotte are here to stay.

Lisa Todd Wexley (Nicole Ari Parker), Charlotte’s neighbor, went through family and professional problems, with a sad moment in which she miscarried a child and was trying to deal with the loss. Will she try again?

And Seema (Sarita Choudhury) is the new Queen of the town. Her mission was the most complex because she had to fill the gap for Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall) and not only did she succeed but she made us fall in love with her. A constant and understanding friend to Carrie, she completes the quartet in her own right.

We won’t have Samantha, it’s better to forget

Kim Cattrall recorded a cameo for the last episode of the season and it is very important that at least this agreement was reached between her and the And Just Like That team. Without Kim, who doesn’t want to return, Samantha was reduced to texting on the phone – but – if they could use her in video calls, it would be enough to alleviate the great lack of her in the series. Samantha’s boldness, which was modern 25 years ago, is precisely the authenticity of the millennial generation, it would bring cultural issues about the role of women in society much better than others, but it is a dream with no chance of becoming a reality. There’s no point in crying for her anymore.

Will it air still in 2024?

Look, And Just Like That, in general, takes three months to record and another three, at most, editing. In 2022, for example, it went live weeks after filming ended. In other words, recordings should end in July/August. Therefore, it would not be impossible to imagine it being on air between September/October 2024. Could it be?
