Here at MiscelAna and the Estúdio Pow! Podcast, it is already clear that Mike Flanagan is the “new master” of Horror, and the news that he “is writing, directing, and producing “a radical new take” on The Exorcist” is good news and it was made official on Deadline.

Tinkering with a perfect film has been a (frustrating) challenge for many, with the most recent one, The Exorcist: Believer, not quite a success. According to the website, Flanagan’s project is about people possessed by demons and the Jesuit priests who face them. It won’t come close to the known universe of the 1973 classic.

“The Exorcist is one of the reasons I became a filmmaker, and it’s an honor to have the chance to try something new, bold, and terrifying within its universe,” Flanagan said in the official statement. And we are already looking forward to it!
