In literature we know little about Otto Hightower’s wife, in fact, we know virtually nothing.

In House of the Dragon, some tips were given, even if they were scarce. And we finally have a name! It’s Alyrie Florent.

We know this because since she was little, Alicent would get close to her late mother when she lit a candle for her in the Sept and encouraged Rhaenyra to do the same.

In the opening episode of the second season, the Queen Mother finally tells us what her mother was called.

We still don’t know much about Alyrie’s health, but in the first episode of the first season, Daemon Targaryen teases Otto by saying that he found out that he had recently become a widower. Otto doesn’t like it but that’s what we have.

There are many inconsistencies in the narrative, from what Alicent comments she would have lost her mother at a very young age, but, according to Otto, she looked like her. So much so that Alicent inherits her wardrobe at a stage in which she is not yet Queen.

What we can know so far is that Alyrie was very devout that she was from House Florent, which is not relevant in House of the Dragon, and that she is a vassal of the Hightowers. Let’s follow!
