Our memory is really short. Just four years ago we were anxious and locked up at home, uncertain of the future. One of the highlights of that time, which for many is a distant past, was jumping onto digital platforms and consuming everything that could provide us with escapism. One of the greatest pearls of the period was the GENIUS and strange series WandaVision, which was artistically profound, original in narrative, and a milestone in the Marvel universe. Among the characters was the friendly neighbor Agnes (Kathryn Hann), revealed in the final episode as the powerful witch Agatha Harkness. And she’s back, much to the madness of her fans.

The spinoff with Agatha couldn’t come at a better time. Marvel’s phase 4 boomed in quantity, several miniseries on the platform, and some feature films, but it came up against the darkness of complex plots and infinitive multiverses, and, above all, with the sadness and anguish of many characters. In short: it went bad.
The undisputed dominance of the franchise resulted in criticism from all sides, lower audiences, and the box office. It lost its magic. It is in this context that the arrival of Agatha, in the series Agatha Desde Semper (Agatha All Along) can end the spell of evil.

Created by Jac Schaeffer and based on the character Agatha Harkness, the series features the hilarious and wonderful Kathryn Hann now as the protagonist, with the reinforcement of great talents such as Audrey Plaza and Patti Lupone. It took three years to arrive at the product that should debut in September, opening phase 5 of the MCU.
Continuing immediately after the conclusion of WandaVision, and following the example of citing series and films that the character may have seen (for example, she appears as the detective from Mare of Easttown), Agatha Harkness is still powerless (as to her magic) after escaping his imprisonment in Westview, imposed by the Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), but manages to free himself, embarking on a quest to regain his former powers.

With a closely monitored production, many changes, and anxiety, it will be up to Agatha to recover Marvel’s success. Could it be a magic trick?
