Emily in Paris: Love and Professional Problems in the Fourth Season

Emily in Paris has a popular and torturous path to fame. It exploded in the deprived year of the pandemic, where escapism was accepted with fervor and gratitude. But the nominations for awards like “best” comedy series and so on also generated criticism. Honestly? Nonsense.

The Netflix series resembles a younger and more Parisian Sex and the City, as it is directed by the creator of the classic series. Similarly, Emily’s (Lily Collins) costumes are the work of the brilliant Patricia Field, who designed the unforgettable looks of Carrie Bradshaw (Sarah Jessica Parker).

Considering that in the fictional world where everyone can bump into each other, I saw a perfect crossover if Emily moved to London and started working with Samantha Jones (Kim Cattrall). Still, then even the name of the series would have to change, right?

Season four is full of problems to solve. Emily finds herself at an emotional crossroads because she’s torn between her English boyfriend, Alfie, and her complex history with Gabriel, who married Camille. To make matters worse, there’s a baby on the way for Camille and Gabriel.

And work is no less complicated when, to stay in Paris, Emily agrees to join Sylvie’s team at her new agency. Now we’ll see our favorite marketer solve these problems and the ones that come along with them, like Sylvie having problems in her marriage and the Grateau agency going through internal turmoil.

Emily’s best friend, Mindy, dreams of winning Eurovision, but financial challenges create problems. Gabriel is determined to earn a Michelin star, but the past always brings surprises that threaten the future.

Emily in Paris is escapism in its veins, with a promise of emotional depth, as Emily deals with the consequences of her personal and professional choices more maturely. Is that really true? We will soon find out.
