It was announced and obvious, but the chance of having a fourth season of Ted Lasso is one step away from reality and it only depends on the star, Jason Sudeikis, to make the project official. But the sign that it is about to happen at any moment is the fact that Warner Bros, which produced the series shown on Apple TV+, is already moving with the documents with the local unions to be able to bring back the entire original cast, or at least a good part of it.

According to the Deadline website, Hannah Waddingham, Brett Goldstein, and Jeremy Swift are already confirmed, betting that the next one will be Juno Temple, but unfortunately, Phil Dunster (our Jamie Tart), is out because he is already in the cast of other productions. Also in the article, they mention that “if all the elements fall into place, we hear that production of a fourth season is eyed for early 2025”. It would be perfect. Why?
Because my memory is not of the goldfish, as he taught us and it has never escaped my attention in all the posts here at MiscelAna that Ted Lasso is the perfect format to feed the passion for soccer in the next World Cup, which, unsurprisingly, will be in the United States. Mark my words: Ted Lasso will be the coach of the American team for 2026. In fiction, OF COURSE!

The “return” of Ted Lasso before or during the World Cup year would be the perfect closing of the cycle. The character was born from NBC Sports’ marketing campaign to popularize soccer in the country and is now a worldwide phenomenon. Of course, Sukeikis always said that the series would end in the third season and not even under the pressure of so much popularity and awards did he change his plan. However, attentive eyes noticed that technically he never called the season “final”. I’m telling you, there really are one or two more seasons coming!
In just three years, Ted Lasso has won no less than 13 Emmy Awards, including two consecutive years for Outstanding Comedy Series, as well as Actor, Supporting Actor, Actress and Writing.

Deadline suggests that the return involves Keeley and Rebecca’s plans for the AFC Richmond women’s team, but I still believe that Ted doesn’t want to return to Europe and is scheduled to train in the United States. After all, he was last seen coaching his son on a soccer field in Kansas and his decision to give up Europe and a successful career was precisely because for him mental health comes first, and being close to his son gives him the emotional security he didn’t have when he was young is vital. We’ll see! For now, we’ll follow along with anticipation!
