The Arconia’s Rear Window: Discover the New Suspicious Residents of Only Murders in the Building

By encouraging readers to discover the new suspicious residents of the Arconia, this title piques curiosity and offers an intriguing insight into the content, which can attract more traffic through searches. Theories and clues about the mystery of Only Murders in the Building

Just when we thought we knew all the (suspect) residents of the Arconia and now we know that there are the “westies”, the gang that lives in the back of the most dangerous address in Manhattan, the West Tower. Only Murders in the Building adds a new gang – all suspicious – to “hook” us into the building where there are only murderers.

We pick up where we left off last week, with Charles (Steve Martin) full of remorse and worry about who killed Sazz (Jane Lynch) or if she was the target or him. Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) leave Charles and start the investigation. This is a problem because my number 1 suspect, Jan (Amy Adams) “shows up” at the apartment.

It’s precisely because of this surprise that Jan goes down on the list: she claims that she found Sazz’s disappearance strange (suspect), that she got in without being seen because she learned about the secret passages by listening to the podcast (suspect) and reassures Charles that if she wanted to kill him, she would have done it (touché). The information we have from Jan to help us: 1) Sazz warned that there was another killer in the building 2) that Sazz was worried about Charles and 3) she needed to talk to Jan. I already have another suspect, but we’ll get back to her.

Jan shares her experience as a psychopath with her ex-boyfriend: aware that he killed the wrong person, the killer cleaned up the crime scene, removed Sazz’s body to gain time, and finally killed the person he wanted to kill from the beginning. In this case, apparently, Charles.

There are loose ends that now keep Jan off this list: someone has Sazz’s cell phone and is talking to Charles as if he were the stunt double, so there is something else here. The police, of course, keep Jan as a priority but she escapes.

From the angle of the shot that came from outside, the killer was positioned in the West Tower so it can only be one of the suspicious neighbors. After the homage to Once Upon a Time in the West, the visual reference to the classic Rear Window, which turns 70 in 2024, is for movie fans. With this clear connection, we will then meet new faces and possibly the killer.

There’s Vince (Richard Kind), the “stinky eye”, and there’s the Molho Family, made up of Inez (Daphne Rubin-Vega), a fan of Charles, her husband, Alfonso (Desmin Borges) and their daughter, Ana (Lilian Rebelo), all hiding something, but it’s not exactly clear what it is. Mabel discovers that Dudenoff – a name that was on Sazz’s papers – is one of the Westies in an abandoned apartment (but with a pig in the bathtub, literally) and is supposedly traveling in Portugal.

All the back and forth in the episode is to clarify that yes, the target is Charles, so whoever killed Sazz is connected to him and no one else in the building. Oliver already starts the new season of Only Murders in the Building and we’re left here deducing who could hate Charles so much to the point of wanting to kill him?

Since I’ve already seen the remaining episodes of the season, except for the conclusion, I’m already forming my thesis, but if I share it, it would be a spoiler.

The clues we have are:

1) The person hates Charles, so it’s someone who worked or had a relationship with him in some way

2) Even though they were far away, for some reason, Sazz identified that Charles could be at risk and tried to talk to him, warning him that it would be a sensitive topic, but she was killed before she could warn him

3) Whoever killed him knows Arconia intimately. Although the secret passages were revealed in the second season, they still need to know how to move around the building without attracting attention. In other words: the culprit is most likely to be or was a resident of Arconia

Jan is temporarily off the list of suspects, but any other suspects from previous seasons could still be involved. Who would be your bet?
