I’m late in updating the cast of The Gilded Age, which is still filming the third season (in other words, don’t even think about it premiering in the first half of 2025), but I’m not going to leave anything out!
There are SIX more new names in the series and they obviously signal some interesting subplots.

We’ll have a family doctor, Dr. Logan (Dylan Baker), who treats several high-society families. In other words, we’ll have someone giving us a scare (and it shouldn’t be among the Van Rhijns because they already have a trusted doctor).
Oscar’s (Blake Ritson) ex-boyfriend, John Adams (Claybourne Elder), grandson of the former American president, will appear more. Yes, we’ll have his older sister, Nancy Adams Bell (Kate Baldwin) circulating in New York. What could this mean? I suspect that the freedom he thought he had to live as a bachelor is numbered…
Considering that this was the era of the Dollar Princesses, in other words, the young millionairesses who were “negotiated” into marriage with bankrupt noblemen (the fate of Gladys Russell (Tassia Farmiga), having only one Duke in Manhattan would be too little. That’s right, we’ll meet Lord Mildmay (Michael Cumpsty), a British nobleman who comes to dinner at Sidmouth Castle. Who else is at risk? In any case, Lady Sarah Vere (Hattie Morahan), sister of the Duke of Buckingham (Ben Lamb), will make it clear that the Russells are not to her taste, which gives Gladys hope of freeing herself from a loveless marriage.

Next! At the Astor house, we’ll have the entrance of Caroline’s (Donna Murphy) married daughter, Charlotte (Hannah Shealy), who returns to New York after a “hectic” trip abroad. What could have happened?
Finally, there will be a new successful, educated, and polished businessman named Weston (John Ellison Conlee) who may be either competition for Larry (Harry Richardson) or a new love for Oscar, we’ll find out and, interestingly, we’ll have the famous artist John Singer Sargent (Bobby Steggert), who has just begun his career painting the great ladies of society. Do you know the classic paintings we still have today of the characters who inspired The Gilded Age? Yes, thank you, Sargent!
We’re not done. In the third season, we’ll also have the appearance of banker JP Morgan (Bill Camp) who finds himself at odds with George Russell (Morgan Spector) over the future of the railroad industry. And as we’ve already mentioned, Bertha Russell’s (Carrie Coon) family also starts to frequent New York, in the person of her estranged sister, Monica O’Brien (Merritt Wever).

The black community of Newport will have a big role, increasing the importance of Peggy Scott (Denée Benton) in the plot, including a potential new romantic interest. Mrs. Ernestine Brown (Leslie Uggams) is one of the new names we’ll see circulating this season and is a friend of suffragette Frances Ellen Watkins Harper (Lisagay Hamilton), who inspires Peggy to get involved in her cause, despite the differing opinions of those around her. No surprises when it comes to Peggy, do you agree? Still speaking of Peggy, we’ll meet her mother’s cousin, Athena Trumbo (Jessica Frances Dukes), who supports Peggy in her writing career.
Another newcomer to the series will be Alfred Merrick (Paul Alexander Nolan), a wealthy and dashing businessman from New York, who has all the characteristics of the old money set – elegance, refinement, and sophistication. The Russells invite him to dinner at their home in the hope of charming him into a business deal.
Finally, we’ll have esoteric consultations! Madame Dashkova (Andrea Martin), will be a medium who claims to be able to communicate with the dead. The question is: who will want to do the consultation?
