It’s really happening! The period series that remakes the classic East of Eden is a reality. The first images of Florence Pugh and Christopher Abbott were filmed as the hateful Cathy Ames and the complex Adam Trask, respectively.

The duo was smiling and joking while filming at the Oamaru Steam and Rail Society railway yard in New Zealand.

The story is about the conflicts between two families – the Trasks and the Hamiltons – whose generations reenact the stories of Adam and Eve as well as Cain and Abel during the American Civil War and the end of World War I. Cathy Ames is the main villain of the story, it will be curious to see Florence in such an evil role, one that, if it depends on the screenwriter and director Zoe Kazan, could be surprising.
