Full Moon Hangover: Who Will Be The Next Victim In The White Lotus?

The next day’s episode is one of denial for everyone, including ourselves because we have to reduce our list of possible victims. The gun has returned to its original owner, but, more than the previous two seasons combined, this third one is really dark: the entire Ratliff family with death impulses, as well as Rick and Chelsea, not forgetting the psychopath on duty: Greg/Gary wanting to erase witnesses of his past.

To sum up: the hangover from the night of the Full Moon gets everyone. On the yacht, Chloe wakes up excited, but the phone call with Greg/Gary makes it clear that the villain knows what his girlfriend did, but is in more trouble because of Belinda than he cares. For now.

Chelsea talks to Rick, begging him to come back, claiming that bad things happen in a third repetition. This sentence keeps Chelsea among the possible victims of this season. The difference? In addition to making us sad, Chelsea’s death doesn’t have enough dramatic force. Rick’s revenge arc could have a tragic side if, when he returns to his girlfriend to confess and open up about what she wants, he sees her being killed. But the plot of the two is independent, more like the parallels that Mike White has been using since season 1: narcissistic houseguests living a new moment in their lives.

On the other hand, the Ratliffs are inadvertently in Greg/Gary’s orbit because Chloe slept with both brothers and the psychopath is jealous. Yes, there was incest on the night, something that Saxon and Lochlan are in denial about, but Chloe confirmed that the images that the brothers are trying to understand and forget are true.

Greg/Gary is putting a plan into action. Belinda, who forgot about him for a few minutes now that her son has come to visit her and she is dating, is taken by surprise by the killer, who goes to the hotel and invites her to dinner at his house. When Belinda hesitates, he reminds her: “we need to talk”.

Belinda continues to be one of the main potential victims precisely because she is Greg/Gary’s target, but since he insists that Chloe bring Saxon and Lochlan to the party, there is something else going on. I suspect that there are two sides to it: 1) Gary Greg will try to bribe Belinda or 2) Gary Greg will threaten Belinda and blackmail Saxon so that the boy will do his dirty work for him. Either way: Saxon and Belinda are leading the possible bodies that are returned in a plastic bag to the US.

The atmosphere is heating up between the friends. Kate witnesses Valentin leaving Jaclyn’s room and quickly tells Laurie. The intention may have been to humiliate the lawyer who was getting excited about the flirting and at the same time gossip about her famous friend, but it goes wrong immediately. Laurie’s reaction was unexpected by Kate, especially since she will let on that she found out through her and that is exactly what she does.

Jacklyn would rather deny to the death that anything really happened with the White Lotus employee, especially now that she is back on good terms with her husband. She and Laurie clearly have a history of cross-conquests and both are on the verge of a confrontation. Kate, who is in the crossfire, is not free from Jacklyn’s gaslighting and we know that this trip has not yet exhausted the drama between them.

Tim was unable to take his own life and now supports Piper’s initiative to seek a simpler life and spiritual connection. He continues to think about taking his own life and after Victoria stated that if you stay poor there is no point in living without wanting to put yourself in the target of your own husband.

Let’s see: the Ratliffs won’t be victims of Greg/Gary, but Gaitok’s recovery of the gun doesn’t mean Tim won’t get it again or use one of the poisonous fruits to solve the family’s problem. He clearly doesn’t remember the warning he received the day he arrived, but we, on the contrary, only think about them.

Speaking of Gaitok: he may be terrible at security, but he’s a natural shooter. In other words, one of the shots will undoubtedly come from HIM and it should be the fatal one…

In Bangkok, Rick finally manages to enter Sritala’s house and come face to face with her husband, Jim Hollinger (Scott Glenn). I’m with Chelsea: I have a bad feeling about this meeting…

Who dies?

Look, based on the mentions of death or proximity to danger, I’m betting on:

1- Belinda: murdered by Greg/Gary or Saxon, at the behest of Greg/Gary
2- Victoria and Tim: in a pact to avoid the scandal of the return
3- Saxon: he tries to attack Belinda and Gatlok kills him
4- Chelsea: she’s been talking so much about being the victim of a violent death that she might accidentally prove herself right
5- Chloe: killed by Greg/Gary so that he can continue to flee from justice without accomplices

There are only two episodes left. Do I get it right?
