Reacher is a hit no questions asked. And even though the series has gone out of chronological order with the books, fans don’t mind. In January 2024, it was announced that the third season would use one of the darkest of the 29 books with Jack Reacher as a basis, Persuader, and boy, was it intense and violent!

The entire story was focused on Reacher’s (Alan Ritchson) personal revenge and was relatively simple, but relentless. It was a festival of sequences of shots, punches, broken bones, stabbings, and many deaths, much more graphic than previous seasons. The final episode was practically scenes like this for almost an hour. It is great to remember that the hero is not always a kind man and that his objectivity makes him almost a psychopath.
It’s a problem for the series to be about “Jack Reacher”, we know that no matter the difficulty, he will survive. The script may be formulaic, but given its success – Reacher was one of the most-watched series on all platforms in March – we know that there is room for it to continue for many years. The third season was denser than the previous ones, a great sign for its future.

What now? We will only meet Reacher again in 2026, but, despite already being in pre-production, we still don’t know which book will serve as the basis. Many are betting on The Midnight Line, the 22nd Reacher book that discusses the opioid crisis. But Alan Ritchson is a fan of Die Trying, the 2nd in the franchise released in 1998, where Reacher is once again accused of a murder he didn’t commit, but also faces the violent militia that tries to separate from the United States.
It’s cool to remember that we will have a spin-off with the faithful Neagley, with Maria Stern in the main role. On-screen, she always steals our attention. Titled “Neagley,” the series is still in development and is expected to focus on Frances Neagley, a former member of the 110th Special Investigations Unit and protégé of Jack Reacher, exploring her past and her work as an investigator.
