This kind of news deserves celebration — especially in times of production cuts. Slow Horses, one of the best Apple TV+ shows since its 2020 debut, has officially confirmed it will go all the way to a seventh season. That’s right! We already have three more seasons guaranteed, as season 5 hasn’t even aired yet and is only scheduled for September 2025.
Our favorite underdogs, led by Jackson Lamb (Gary Oldman), started gaining major star status around season 4 — and with plenty of books left to adapt, this story has solid ground to keep going. To be honest, the renewal was kind of expected: the production team cleverly films two seasons back-to-back, so if they were getting ready to shoot season 6, it made sense to ensure there’d be more story to tell after that.

The series, based on Mick Herron’s spy novels, is already one of Apple’s biggest hits and continues to earn renewals with a level of confidence that’s rare in today’s streaming landscape. The upcoming season is based on the book Bad Actors, and follows Lamb and his Slow Horses as they try to track down a mole embedded in the heart of the British government — before it’s too late.
Meanwhile, season 6 — greenlit last year — will adapt Joe Country and Slough House, and promises to throw the spies into a high-stakes clash with Diana Taverner (Kristin Scott Thomas) in a dangerous game of revenge and political retaliation.

The core cast is expected to return, and we’ll dive into the upcoming plots very soon. For now? Let’s celebrate the win!
