With every sign of a final stretch — yet with the door (and plenty of hooks) still open for at least one more round — Emily Cooper continues to win hearts. Ours included.

Episode 1 — “La Dolce Emily”
We return to Rome, with Emily fully embracing the Roman pace — slower, less frantic. Now running the office and in love… what could possibly go wrong?
Almost everything. Rome is seductive, but it still doesn’t pay the bills. Worse still, Sylvie is also enjoying the city with a new local love interest and quickly realizes that expansion without multiple Italian clients simply isn’t viable. Especially when merchandising opportunities are endless and expensive.
Unable to secure her long-promised promotion, Emily now has another challenge: getting closer to the Muratori matriarch — effectively, her mother-in-law. Just when she thinks she’s made progress, she understands the Muratoris’ real plan: they have always seen her as temporary. And perhaps Sylvie has, too.
Meanwhile, clients in Paris are growing restless. Gabriel makes a spontaneous decision and travels to Rome to see Emily — only to witness her happiness with Marcello from a distance. She never sees him. He quietly returns to France, choosing not to interfere with her new life.
Episode 2 — “Got to Be Real”
In the search for new clients, the team targets luxury brands. But what usually works in France — Emily’s instinctive, spur-of-the-moment suggestions — fails in Italy.
At least she manages to save Antoine’s perfume, repositioning the product under the Muratori brand.
A longtime friend of Sylvie’s, Princess Jane, enters the picture and connects the agency with potential local clients. She has contacts, but no money. Every deal is a negotiation, every favor a bargain. Emily feels sidelined with Sylvie fully in control. When she is caught carrying a fake handbag, Emily starts fearing she herself might be “fake” — at work, in love, and within her own identity.

Episode 3 — “Intimissimi Issue”
Emily keeps missing the mark and can’t seem to recover. She simply can’t land a client anymore.
Mindy, partly out of boredom and partly without meaning to, grows dangerously close to Alfie, who is equally unattached. The problem? They get along too well — and believe they can keep it secret. Emphasis on belief.
Emily is the only one who notices nothing — but she does manage to secure a new client for the agency, buying them more time in Rome.
Episode 4 — “Rome Has Fallen”
Just when everything seems to be going well, the Muratori perfume launch becomes too successful, and the small town is overrun by tourists. As a result, Emily is fired, and the agency is once again at risk.
Everything begins to unravel, and for everyone involved, the expansion now looks like one of Sylvie’s miscalculations. It’s time to face reality — and go home.
Episode 5 — “Bonjour Paris”
After all these years, Emily finally feels at home in Paris. She slips easily back into her old self, saving the day with simple ideas that work and are immediately embraced.
Mindy keeps her secret about Alfie — or tries to. Emily is eventually told about the two of them and is hurt: not because she has feelings for Alfie, but because her ex and her best friend lied to her.
At the same time, Gabriel decides to leave France, accepting a new job that will take him around the world. There will be no love triangle — he only wants Emily to be happy. And we, of course, want reconciliation.
Episode 6 — “The One Where Emily Goes to the Embassy”
Emily and Mindy’s friendship is fractured. Emily wanders Paris alone, but this time as a local rather than a tourist. She meets an American embassy attaché and, through him, reconnects — briefly — with her roots.
Sylvie, meanwhile, faces her own reckoning with the past. She considers reconciling with her husband, but of course, nothing about that relationship is ever harmonious.
Episode 7 — “Second Chances”
Marcello reappears and tells Emily he has broken away from his family. He plans to launch his own brand and build everything alongside his girlfriend. His business partner? Nicolas, who has also broken with his family and rekindled things with Mindy. Even though her connection with Alfie was beginning to deepen, Mindy believes in Nicolas and chooses to try again.
Sylvie also reconnects with an old friend and meets a young man who encourages her to be bold — and we all know that can only end badly.

Episode 8 — “Fashion Statement”
Professional drama takes center stage as Marcello becomes entangled in a bitter conflict with his family. Sylvie, inevitably, finds herself in trouble again when she discovers her new lover is her friend’s son. The two women fall out once more — this time for good.
Episode 9 — “La Belle Époque”
An unexpected visit from Gabriel suggests that his story with Emily may not be entirely in the past, even though nothing happens between them. Marcello works on his first collection as a designer, while Mindy accepts less glamorous jobs to pay the bills.
Sylvie finally understands that her marriage to Laurent — open or otherwise — is simply bad business.
Episode 10 — “Veni, Vidi, Venezia”
Venice Fashion Week is where the drama reaches its peak, even as Emily once again saves the day with one of her elaborate ideas.
She finds an engagement ring among Marcello’s things and begins anticipating his proposal. Everything seems to be working out, even as Alfie pressures Mindy for another chance, insisting that what they shared was stronger and more real than what she has with Nicolas.
Sylvie hides from Emily the fact that Laurent’s debts nearly destroyed the agency, encouraging her instead to build a life with Marcello in Italy. But just when it feels like the moment, Emily speaks first and says she can’t marry him. The twist: the ring wasn’t for her. Nicolas planned to propose to Mindy and asked Marcello to hide it.
Unintentionally, Emily ends her relationship just as Mindy accepts Nicolas’s proposal — even though she is immediately shaken by the realization that she is still in love with Alfie. And now?

Emily surprises everyone by showing up for work as usual. Marcello has left, and she decides to fully recommit to the agency. That’s when Sylvie finally tells the truth: she was about to lose everything — but now has a partner. Yes, Princess Jane, now a widow, is one of the owners, and her presence is set to change everything.
Informed by Sylvie that Emily is single again, Gabriel keeps a promise: he sends a real postcard — with a stamp — inviting her to come see him. Will the third try be the charm?
Season 5 of Emily in Paris delivered solid drama and a slightly more confident Emily. The future is wide open, and everyone must adapt to a new reality. Will we meet again?
