Nathan starts the day trying to prepare a risk assessment report meant to answer the only question that truly matters in that world: what costs more: a lawsuit or drilling the well? Thinking positively, here, means choosing the smallest possible financial loss. Tommy, however, has no patience for abstract calculations.
On his way out of the house, he finds TL collapsed in the pool, asking for help. His father laments having so much clarity trapped inside a body that grows weaker by the day, which makes Tommy wonder where all the optimism from the previous episode has gone. Still, he helps. The two are, in fact, closer now. They hug. But when Tommy asks TL to stay away from the edge of the pool next time, his father stares at the water with an unsettling look, as if he’s planning something. Tommy knows: TL is far from okay.

We move on to another classic Tommy road trip. He pressures his son to walk faster so they won’t be late when Angela calls — in a bikini — complaining that he left early without saying goodbye. The scene seems to signal another meltdown. Not exactly. Angela is in a bikini to ask for ten thousand dollars: she wants to take the elderly people she cares for to a casino. Tommy agrees, just as he’s driving past a strip club. There’s time for a quick stop, it seems.
The idea is to hire a stripper to act as TL’s physical therapist. No sex involved, he assures her. A “real” professional wouldn’t work because TL is too stubborn to obey, but a beautiful woman might do the trick. And keep him happier. She agrees. This is Landman.
Because of the delay, Cooper arrives at work before Tommy. Dale’s team will work with him. Nepotism is welcome here.
So far, Tommy’s day is strangely calm.
To the off-key sound of Neil Diamond, Angela takes the seniors to the casino. Five seconds later, they’re all asleep. That’s when Operation “Transform Margareth,” the nursing home nurse, begins. What follows are sexist one-liners not worth repeating, culminating at home, where her husband enthusiastically approves the makeover.

While waiting for the team, Cami is hit on at the bar and completely loses her composure once she’s alone. She’s clearly not ready to move on after Monty. But when it’s time for business, she hardens. Charlie explains the risks of the operation: there are no guarantees. It leaves her deeply confused. The experts’ advice is to recover whatever they can, but Cami wants to gamble. She wants to honor the contract.
Tommy gets irritated. Rebecca is furious with Charlie for, instead of convincing Cami to walk away, giving her hope of making billions. Whatever was going on between Rebecca and Charlie ended there. Tommy is blunt with Cami: she’s trading a certainty for a “maybe,” and that’s extremely dangerous. But the company is hers, and he accepts it.
Cami then breaks down. She’s alone, has no friends, and no one she can talk to about personal matters, even about being hit on by a handsome man who touched her face. Tommy hugs her and suggests selling everything and living a calm life. “I want success,” she says. “Can you get that for me?” He replies that he’s trying.
When Tommy finds Rebecca crying, he realizes something is wrong with her too, but doesn’t risk getting involved. Women are too complicated, it seems.
The stripper keeps her word and helps TL, just as promised.

Tommy’s meeting with Gallino is another attempt to sabotage Cami’s deal. The trafficker likes the 10% odds; for him, the investment is worth it. Tommy realizes the deal could leave Cami with some money, but far more for Gallino. Naturally. Villains rarely play nice.
On the return flight, Rebecca sits far from Charlie. Tommy confronts the geologist: how did he manage to make a 90% risk sound appealing? Or, rather, to make a 10% chance sound safe? Later, with the lawyer, she confesses that during the fight, Charlie said some painful truths she can’t ignore. Truth works this way, he confirms. I guess they’re friends now.
When Tommy gets home, he finds TL calm, in the pool, with the stripper. And Angela returns with more than three hundred thousand dollars won at the casino.
Yes. This was a good day for Tommy. Something bad is surely coming his way.
