Across HBO, FX, and Hulu, new actors have been confirmed in projects that range from the medieval world of Westeros to luxury European resorts, as well as sports comedies and investigative dramas. When casting announcements begin appearing in quick succession, it usually signals that scripts are finalized and filming is approaching.

Westeros continues to expand
In the universe of A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms, HBO has confirmed several important new characters connected to the novella The Sworn Sword, the second story in the adventures of Dunk and Egg written by George R. R. Martin — something fans had already anticipated. The good news lies in the confirmation of the main cast.
Among the highlights is Lucy Boynton as Rohanne Webber, known as “The Red Widow.” The character inherited Coldmoat Castle as her father’s only daughter and became famous across Westeros for having had six husbands, fueling rumors among the smallfolk that some of them may have met unnatural ends.

In the story, the hedge knight Ser Duncan the Tall becomes involved in a conflict between Rohanne and the local lord Eustace Osgrey. The dispute ultimately brings Dunk and Rohanne closer, in one of the most well-known stories from the novellas. Osgrey will be played by Peter Mullan, while Babou Ceesay — who stood out in Alien: Earth, also returning for a second season — will portray Ser Bennis.
The series has already been renewed for a second season, and showrunner Ira Parker has said that the plan to adapt the Dunk and Egg stories could reach 12 or even 15 seasons, depending on how the universe develops. That may be a bit ambitious, but fans can certainly hope for at least four seasons.
The White Lotus prepares its European chapter
Meanwhile, HBO also revealed new cast members for Season 4 of The White Lotus.
Joining the show are Vincent Cassel, Corentin Fila, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.
The new season will be filmed in France and will follow a new group of guests and hotel employees over the course of a week, maintaining the narrative structure that helped the series created by Mike White become one of HBO’s biggest critical and awards successes.
The already announced cast includes Helena Bonham Carter, Steve Coogan, Chris Messina, Alexander Ludwig, Ari Graynor, Sandra Bernhard, and AJ Michalka.

Hulu expands Chad Powers
Hulu also announced new additions to Season 2 of Chad Powers, starring Glen Powell.
The show has added guest stars Colin Woodell, Gillian Jacobs, Carey O’Donnell, and Nate Varrone.
The series is inspired by a segment from Eli’s Places, in which former NFL quarterback Eli Manning disguised himself in prosthetics to secretly participate in a college football tryout.
FX adds a key role to The Lowdown
FX also confirmed the first major casting addition for Season 2 of The Lowdown.
Betty Gilpin will join the series opposite Ethan Hawke.
Created by Sterlin Harjo, the drama follows citizen journalist Lee Raybon, whose relentless search for the truth constantly leads him into dangerous territory while investigating corruption in Tulsa.

A signal of the television calendar
When multiple platforms begin announcing new cast members for major series at the same time, it is rarely accidental.
In the television industry, this usually means that scripts are finalized, production schedules are locked in, and cameras are about to start rolling.
From Westeros to the French Riviera, several of the most talked-about series in development appear to be entering exactly that phase.
