Hannah travels to her mother Carol’s house and arrives with a simple request: she wants to stay there withoutquestions. Carol immediately agrees. The gesture of quiet support wins Bailey over right away.
Meanwhile, Agent Grady continues investigating the suspicious phone calls. A colleague, Ed, asks if everything is all right with him, and the series clearly wants the audience to remain suspicious of his motives.
At Carol’s house, Hannah refuses a drink and also brushes off her mother’s attempt to start a deeper conversation. She clearly has many reasons to behave this way, but her attitude ends up resembling the impatience often seen in her stepdaughter. Carol asks whether Hannah is expecting someone. She initially tries to deny it, but eventually admits that Owen might be on his way, simply so Carol will not be surprised. Carol responds with practical realism. She says she would not be surprised, but she also doubts it will actually happen. Moments later, a car pulls into the driveway. It is Owen.

Hannah already knew there was a tracker in the necklace. Even so, after five years apart,t she cannot bring herself to hug her husband. Bailey is asleep, and Hannah decides not to wake her. Knowing Bailey’s personality, it might have been wiser to allow the reunion immediately, but that is not what happens.
Owen apologizes for everything and tries to get closer, but Hannah still needs distance.
The following morning, Hannah wakes Bailey, who quickly senses that something is wrong. Before that moment, however, Carol and Owen finally meet. He notices that she has a hidden gun, but the detail quickly fades when Owen sees his daughter for the first time in years. The embrace between them is deeply emotional.
Owen then begins to explain everything that has happened. Hannah and Bailey interrupt him repeatedly, filling in parts of the story they already know. Their new objective is to prove that the Campanos are criminals.
Bailey reacts angrily to the idea that her father might disappear again.
When she is alone with Hannah, Bailey asks a surprising question: Why did Carol abandon her daughter when Hannah was young? Interestingly, Bailey seems more inclined to defend Carol than Hannah herself. A flashback shows Hannah as a young woman who was just as stubborn and resentful.
Bailey then makes a classic teenage mistake and calls her boyfriend. The call ends up being traced by the Campanos.

When Hannah later tries to contact Charlie, Owen explains that even disposable phones can be traced quite easily. Hannah continues to suspect Grady, but Owen insists that he is trustworthy. Everything we see suggests that Grady is indeed trying to help them.
Carol directly asks Bailey what Owen actually did in the past. Bailey delivers a blunt answer that may be the best line in the series so far. He lied, and he left.
Owen attempts to justify himself by saying he hid the truth to protect Hannah. He repeats the same explanation to Bailey, and this time it seems to resonate a little more.
In the long-overdue conversation between Hannah and Carol, Hannah discovers another painful revelation. Her father lied to her for her entire life. The photographs she believed were of him were actually of Carol. Even with the truth exposed, forgiveness still feels very distant. The literal heat of the place mirrors the emotional tension in the room.
Meanwhile, the Campanos manage to trace Hannah and Bailey’s location.
Bailey and Carol share a separate conversation in which each defends someone different. Bailey defends Hannah. Carol defends Owen.
The dinner that follows, with all four of them together, becomes an awkward and tense exchange full of passive-aggressive remarks. While they argue about the past, the criminals are already on their way. Grady, who had been trying to help, is betrayed and handed over to the Campanos.

Owen realizes through his equipment that they are about to be attacked. He warns that they only have fifteen minutes to leave, but Hannah refuses to run immediately. She wants a plan and wants to be part of the decision. In the end, they flee. Carol stays behind.
The man tracking Bailey’s phone notices that the device is moving. Hannah, however, quickly comes up with a solution. She throws the phone onto a passing train and manages to confuse the pursuers.
Now, Hannah, Owen, and Bailey escape together.
The problem is that another threat still exists. Hannah has been followed by other people throughout the investigation. That second group is still tracking the trio, who do not yet realize that the danger is far from over.
