A neighbor with an exemplary face and reputation, a perfect house, and an unimaginable secret in the basement. I’ve lost count of how many movies use this formula, some better than others. Unfortunately, the case of I came By is not the best.

The film has a great cast – George MacKay, Kelly Macdonald, and Hugh Bonneville – that even holds the suspense, but it’s not exactly a story that makes sense or is innovative. Hugh Bonneville is best known as Downton Abbey‘s kind father and hence the surprise of a more suspect role.

Got hours to waste? It could be an option. But don’t expect much.
