The Crown’s final season teaser secrets

For six years we followed a fictional narrative of the Royal Family that today is confused with a docudrama, but that’s because The Crown is a refined and award-winning series. With the proposal to stop production before reaching current times, a wise decision taken years before the royal drama that the Windsors face, with the breakup between Prince William and Harry, the sixth season will actually be the series’ farewell, with two separate phases. The first debuted on November 16th and the second a month later. As there are 10 episodes, we will have 5 released each time.

The teaser still doesn’t reveal much, but we know that among the first five episodes, we will have the accident and death of Princess Diana, the crisis of the monarchy that reached its peak when Elizabeth II remained tied to protocol, and how she subsequently recovered her popularity and elevated her like never before. For Charles and Camilla, however, this period will again stir up sensitive wounds, which many associate with what they face again today with Harry and Meghan. It’s not, but they do.

The teaser has the three actresses who played the queen – Claire Foy, Olivia Colman, and Imelda Staunton – discussing the crucial points of the story that Peter Morgan wanted to tell us and which highlights what it means to ‘be’ the Crown and the price of Duty. It is not a job, it is not a choice, but a hereditary role that demands personal sacrifices and sacrifices from those close to us. As it ends with a Queen on her Golden Jubilee thinking about “the woman and the life she left aside” it connects us directly to the People’s Queen, Diana Spencer.

The poster for the sixth season featured one of the last photos of Diana, on her trip through the south of France, days before her death. And it suggests that she provoked in the dedicated Elizabeth, a greater reflection on Happiness and Duty. It will, without a doubt, be an emotional season
