Confessions of a Diva: Liz Taylor

Yay!!! There were two documentaries that I really looked forward to watching, Faye, about Faye Dunaway and now Elizabeth Taylor: the Lost Tapes in which we hear the narrative of her life in the star’s own voice. which is rare and much more interesting.

The interviews were recently recovered, revealing the intimacy of what is considered the last great movie star in Hollywood, and helping to contextualize her legacy. The recordings are from 60 years ago, in the most turbulent years of her personal life, that is, the period in which she married Richard Burton when the actress spoke to journalist Richard Meryman for a profile about her.

There are 40 hours of unpublished audio interviews and, alongside photos and home movies, they provide a very authentic biography. In addition to talking about her career and love, she talks about her best friends, Rock Hudson, Montgomery Clift, and Roddy McDowall, who led her to become involved as an activist and defender of the LGBTQ community.

Unmissable!
