Donna Summer‘s voice and look are classics from the 1970s. The singer who sold more than 200 million records, being the first artist to have three consecutive double albums reach first place on the Billboard charts in the United States, is the subject of the documentary Love to Love You, Donna Summer, announced for May from 2023.

Directed by award-winning Roger Ross Williams and the artist’s daughter, Brooklyn Sudano, the documentary will showcase previously unseen personal material from Donna Summer, using her own reflections as well as interviews with family, friends, and colleagues.

The singer’s fascinating life has already been turned into a Broadway musical and will now have a distant look. It emerged in Germany, in an iconic partnership with Giorgio Moroder, and dominated the world, with so many hits that it soon gained the reference of Queen. Her beautiful voice, her sensuality, and mystery helped to create the legend that, after a few years away, she resumed her career in the 1990s. Donna died on May 17, 2012, from lung cancer.
Love to Love You, Donna Summer recalls her greatest hits, making the soundtrack a standout. With personal images and photos, we will have an unprecedented view of how he worked and lived off-stage. Unmissable.
