Alleged House of the Dragon Season 3 leaks spark fan frenzy

The internet has returned to a state of alert reminiscent of the most intense years of Game of Thrones. Rumors, theories, and above all leaks have always been part of the Westeros ecosystem, but few moments were as impactful as Season 6 of the original series, when entire episodes appeared online and turned Reddit into a global hub for spoilers. Since then, any unofficial material related to the universe created by George R. R. Martin has been treated as potentially revealing.

This is not — at least for now — a confirmed leak on the same scale. Even so, this week, detailed descriptions of all eight episodes of House of the Dragon Season 3 began circulating widely on social media, months ahead of HBO’s expected premiere. The content, attributed to unverified sources, quickly dominated forums, timelines, and fan communities, accompanied by a recurring warning: anyone who wants to avoid spoilers should stop reading immediately.

What makes these alleged leaks particularly intriguing is their internal coherence. In light of the teaser already released and what is known from the book Fire & Blood, many of the described events appear consistent with the progression of the Dance of the Dragons and the narrative arcs established in the first two seasons. Rather than wild speculation, the material suggests a season defined by decisive battles, shocking deaths, and profound shifts in the balance of power across Westeros.

If authentic, the leaks would point to an even darker and more violent phase of the Targaryen civil war. If not, they have already fulfilled a familiar role in contemporary pop culture: reigniting collective debate, turning the waiting period into an investigation, and demonstrating that in the world of House of the Dragon, the war is fought not only on screen, but also in theories, rumors, and the imagination of fans.

EPISODE 1

Rhaenyra, Hugh, Addam, and Ulf arrive at Harrenhal. Daemon greets them and shares information about Rook’s Rest. Nearby, Alys Rivers approaches Hugh and Ulf with an enigmatic prophecy for Hugh: “The Hammer will bring down the Dragon.” Meanwhile, Addam encounters a mystical Green Man from the Isle of Faces.

Daemon meets the “Winter Wolves,” a formidable northern force led by Ser Rodrick Dustin (also known as “Roddy the Ruin”). In the Crownlands, Lord Walys Mooton retakes Rook’s Rest. During the skirmish, King Aegon II and Larys Strong are captured while searching for the dragon Sunfyre.

In the Vale, Rhaena wanders the wilderness, finally discovering and bonding with the wild dragon Sheepstealer.

The Triarchy fleet arrives at the Gullet to break the blockade of King’s Landing. They are intercepted by the Black Fleet led by Corlys Velaryon. The battle turns disastrous — Alyn is thrown into the sea but rescued by Corlys. Both are captured by Tyland Lannister. Just as hope fades, Rhaenyra and the dragonriders descend from the sky, incinerating the Triarchy fleet.

Jace flies very low on Vermax. A scorpion bolt strikes the dragon, sending it crashing into the sea. Rhaenyra watches in horror as Jace is killed. Enraged, Alyn uses a jagged piece of oak to kill the Triarchy captain Sharako Lohar, earning the name “Oakfist.” Addam arrives on Seasmoke, rescuing Alyn and Corlys. Tyland is lost at sea, drifting among wreckage.

Rhaenyra receives news that her younger sons are safe in Pentos, but Rhaena is missing.

In King’s Landing, Prince Regent Aemond is pleased that the blockade has ended, indifferent to the cost. Alicent Hightower mourns Jace’s death. Ser Criston Cole and Gwayne Hightower urge Aemond to reinforce the Green army and march on Harrenhal.

EPISODE 2

The aftermath of the Battle of Honeywine. We are introduced to Ormund Hightower and Prince Daeron Targaryen, who turned the tide of the battle for the Greens.

In King’s Landing, Otto Hightower is arrested by City Watch commander Luther Largent under orders from Mysaria.

In the Vale, Addam and Rhaenyra patrol the mountains and discover Rhaena — badly burned but alive and commanding Sheepstealer.

Alicent confronts Aemond. She reveals the truth about Viserys’s death and the burden of Aegon’s Dream, showing him the inscription on the Catspaw Dagger. Moved by destiny or ambition, Aemond leaves the capital with the royal army.

Daemon travels to the Riverlands and meets Oscar Tully and Black Aly. He rallies the Riverlords.

The Battle of the Red Fork. Daemon leads his forces against the Lannister army. The battle is brutal. Roddy the Ruin faces Jason Lannister in single combat and beheads him. Daemon celebrates the victory, displaying Jason’s head.

EPISODE 3

Caraxes and Syrax circle over King’s Landing. Panic spreads through the streets. The Gold Cloaks, loyal to Daemon, open the city gates to Rhaenyra’s army.

The Sack of King’s Landing.

Daemon and the City Watch storm the Red Keep, massacring the Hightower garrison. Queen Helaena, realizing the end has come, formally surrenders royal authority to Rhaenyra.

Mysaria presents Rhaenyra with a gift: the captive Otto Hightower. Daemon quickly beheads Otto. He then orders Alicent thrown into the Black Cells.

Rhaenyra intervenes and cancels the order, sparing Alicent. Daemon and Mysaria are visibly disgusted by this mercy.

Rhaenyra orders Daemon to fly to the Reach to retrieve Alicent’s youngest son, Prince Daeron.

Rhaenyra knights Alyn. Corlys publicly acknowledges Alyn as his bastard son. Rhaenyra legitimizes him as Ser Alyn Velaryon, naming him heir to Driftmark and Lord of the Tides.

EPISODE 4

Aemond arrives at Harrenhal and finds it abandoned. He learns King’s Landing has fallen and attempts to march back immediately, but Ser Criston Cole convinces him it is a trap.

Aemond vents his rage by executing Lord Strong and his family. He encounters the mysterious Alys Rivers.

Rhaenyra forms her new Small Council. Torrhen Manderly and Lady Jeyne Arryn arrive. Rhaenyra thanks Jeyne for sheltering her sons, but Jeyne is cold and indifferent.

In the Reach, Ormund Hightower receives an offer of negotiation from Daemon. Daemon threatens to attack unless Ormund surrenders Daeron. Ormund agrees but secretly sends an impostor instead.

Back in the capital, Rhaenyra secretly meets Helaena in the Dragonpit. Helaena is with her dragon Dreamfyre, speaking in riddles.

Ormund’s army takes refuge in Tumbleton. Daemon discovers this and marches to besiege the city.

Outside Tumbleton, Daemon brutally beats the captive Gwayne Hightower in full view of the walls. He displays Criston Cole’s severed head on a spear. Corlys Velaryon urges caution and patience. Daemon ignores him and orders the sack of Tumbleton.

Note: It is unlikely that “Daemon displays Criston Cole’s head on a spear,” as he will remain alive in the story, even if only for a short time. This information is probably incorrect, but it has been preserved as originally published.

EPISODE 5

Daemon returns to King’s Landing with “Daeron.” Alicent immediately recognizes that the boy is not her son. Grand Maester Orwyle confirms the deception.

Rhaenyra shocks the Small Council by bringing Alicent into the chamber and naming her “Special Adviser to the Queen.” The council is outraged. Factions begin to fracture her support base.

On Dragonstone, Alyn attempts to claim the wild dragon Cannibal. He is severely burned and barely survives.

Rhaenyra orders Daemon to take his army and isolate Ormund’s forces to prevent them from joining Aemond. Before departing, Daemon finds Helaena in a trance. She is seeing a vision of Aemond at Harrenhal.

VISION: Aemond sees dragons burning a city. He sees Helaena watching him from the other side of the astral plane and wakes in fear.

Aegon II finds Sunfyre. The dragon burns Lord Mooton’s men, freeing Aegon.

Aegon sends Larys Strong ahead to King’s Landing to sow chaos in the shadows.

EPISODE 6

Lord Celtigar proposes a heavy new taxation policy. Alicent advises Rhaenyra against it. Rhaenyra listens, further alienating her council and Mysaria.

Aemond orders Criston Cole to march south and join Ormund’s army in the Riverlands.

The “Butcher’s Ball.” Criston Cole and Gwayne Hightower spot Daemon’s forces lying in wait. Criston rides forward under a banner of truce to negotiate. There is no negotiation.

Criston is struck by twenty arrows instantly. Gwayne tries to flee but is captured. The Green army is annihilated by the Winter Wolves and the Riverlords.

EPISODE 7

Enraged by Cole’s death, Aemond begins burning the Riverlands with Vhagar.

The unpopular tax policy is enacted behind Rhaenyra’s back by the council.

Rhaenyra breaks down in tears. Alicent comforts her. In a moment of vulnerability, Rhaenyra and Alicent kiss. Mysaria witnesses the intimacy from the shadows.

EPISODE 8

Tyland Lannister reaches the coast of Pentos, barely alive. He discovers Rhaenyra’s sons, Aegon and Viserys,s are hidden there.

In King’s Landing, Mysaria joins forces with Larys Strong. Larys incites riots among the populace using the new taxes as a pretext.

The First Battle of Tumbleton. Daemon’s army sacks the city. Hugh Hammer learns his wife is trapped inside. He and Corlys beg Daemon to stop the massacre, but Daemon refuses. Suddenly, Prince Daeron arrives on Tessarion. The battle evens out.

Roddy the Ruin kills Ormund Hightower but dies in the attempt. Hugh tries to save his wife but watches her die in the chaos. Enraged, Hugh betrays Rhaenyra. He turns his dragon Vermithor against Daemon’s forces and burns Tumbleton indiscriminately. Hugh declares his claim to the Iron Throne. Gwayne takes Corlys prisoner.

Alys Rivers and Aemond uncover the secret of Aegon’s Dream within the dagger.

Daemon retreats to the Vale, where he is found by his daughter Rhaena.

In King’s Landing, the Shepherd begins preaching to the crowds, inciting them against the dragons. Addam returns with news of Hugh’s betrayal. Paranoid, Rhaenyra orders Addam sent to the Black Cells.

Addam escapes before he can be imprisoned, aided by Alyn and Helaena.

Helaena prophesies that Addam will be the hero of the “Second Battle of Tumbleton.”

Mysaria and Larys watch as they plan their next move.
