The entire performance will last only 11 minutes and bring together six major attractions, which would mean roughly 1 minute and 50 seconds for each if the time were divided democratically. The production itself has suggested approximately 1 minute and 45 seconds per artist. That is not enough time for a show. It is enough time for a statement.

Which is why the possibility of Madonna opting for a medley seems enormous. Music would make almost inevitable sense given the scale of the event, Vogue offers instant recognition, and Danceteria would connect her current phase to the most-watched stage on the planet. No setlist has been officially confirmed, so that combination remains speculation, but it would fit perfectly with the logic of such an abbreviated appearance.

Perhaps the most intriguing clue about her state of mind, however, came before she even stepped into the stadium. Madonna reposted an AI-generated video in which Argentine players are shown dancing sensually in a locker room and two of them kiss. Shared during the very week of the final, it hardly suggests a Madonna interested in passing unnoticed.

She does not need to interrupt the match, deliver a speech, or create some monumental scandal. Madonna has always understood that a single image can provoke more than a thousand words.

And in front of billions of people, 1 minute and 50 seconds may not be enough for most artists.

For Madonna, it may be more than enough.
