October 2026 arrives on streaming with a particularly strong lineup for anyone drawn to adaptations, major returns and familiar stories revisited through new perspectives. The month opens with two premieres that, for very different reasons, already come surrounded by curiosity: a new version of Carrie, now updated for an adolescence shaped by social media, and East of Eden, a new adaptation of John Steinbeck’s classic that once again places Cathy Ames at the center of a saga spanning generations.

But October is not relying only on familiar titles. There are larger-scale adventures such as Treasure Island, romantic dramas like Love of Your Life, espionage with the return of The Terminal List, and Tenzing, which revisits the historic ascent of Everest through the perspective of Tenzing Norgay. Also worth watching are the legal drama War, with Dominic West and Sienna Miller at the center of a high-profile divorce, and Nocturne, a dark thriller led by Liev Schreiber, Stephen Graham and Zazie Beetz.

Among the series that already have an established audience, October also brings new chapters of The Diplomat, Nobody Wants This and Lupin, three very different productions carried by characters that have already proved their staying power. An ambitious reimagining of the classic, Treasure Island follows teenager Jim Hawkins and his formidable mother, Bess, as they are swept into a deadly race to find the treasure of the infamous Captain Flint. Fighting for control of it are Long John Silver, a ruthless survivor who is as charming as he is cunning, and Aaron Graham, a revolutionary spy who intends to use the gold to challenge colonial power.

Love of Your Life — October 14

Directed by Rachel Morrison (The Fire Inside), Love of Your Life follows Maya (Margaret Qualley), whose unexpected encounter with Charlie (Gabriel Basso) sparks a great romance and a future far beyond anything she had imagined. When that future is suddenly destroyed, Maya is thrown into an entirely different life, forcing her to confront who she is, what she wants and how she might learn to love again.

Masterplan — October 16

When a legendary thief decides to steal the Mona Lisa, he recruits two young strangers to help him: Chiara, a brilliant Italian cybercrime expert, and Jay, an overconfident French explosives specialist. Only later does he reveal that the two are long-separated siblings — and, yes, that he is their father.

Thrown into a chaotic family reunion neither of them asked for, this newly assembled family will have to learn how to work together — and try not to kill one another — if they are to have any chance of pulling off the heist of the century.

The Terminal List — October 21

Based on the bestselling novels of the same name, The Terminal List follows Navy SEAL Commander James Reece (Chris Pratt) in his fight against unknown conspiratorial forces threatening to destabilize the world order.

The new season adapts Jack Carr’s second novel, True Believer, sending Reece on a violent journey of redemption as he searches for a new purpose after completing his list. The psychological revenge thriller of the first season now expands into an international espionage story, taking Reece across the Indian Ocean, North and South Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

Alongside familiar characters including Raife Hastings (Tom Hopper), Katie Buranek (Constance Wu), Mohammed Farooq (Dar Salim) and Jules Landry (Luke Hemsworth), as well as newcomers such as Freddy Strain (Gabriel Luna), Reece will uncover a conspiracy stretching from Moscow to Langley and connected to his own family history.

Tenzing — October 9

Inspired by true events, Tenzing tells the little-known story of Tenzing Norgay (Genden Phuntsok), the gifted Himalayan mountaineer who, alongside New Zealander Edmund Hillary (Tom Hiddleston), became one of the first men to reach the summit of Everest.

Encouraged by his wife, Dawa (Thinley Lhamo), Tenzing finds an ally in expedition secretary Jill Henderson (Caitríona Balfe). Together, they persuade Colonel John Hunt (Willem Dafoe) that Tenzing should be part of the British climbing team rather than merely serve it.

While the Western climbers see “Everest” as something to be conquered, Tenzing reveres “Chomolungma” as the sacred mother goddess. What follows is a climb shaped as much by tensions of background, class and competing ambitions as by the dangers of the mountain itself. At high altitude, however, empire, social position and ambition lose their importance, leaving two men united by respect and trust and allowing Tenzing to fulfill not only a lifelong dream, but a spiritual mission.

The Diplomat — October 15

The feeling of the “first time,” all over again.

After reaffirming their commitment to each other at the end of last season, Joanne (Kristen Bell) and Noah (Adam Brody) are moving into a new home and entering a stage of their relationship that finally feels solid, while experiencing all the exciting “firsts” of a life being built together.

Sasha (Timothy Simons) and Esther (Jackie Tohn), meanwhile, are thrown back into the dating world whether they like it or not, confronting all the awkwardness — and the unexpected excitement — of meeting someone new. At the same time, Morgan (Justine Lupe) takes her career to another level and finds herself on the verge of becoming a minor media celebrity.

Meanwhile, Sasha and Morgan continue orbiting something neither of them has yet managed to admit.

Lupin — October 23

Part 4 of Lupin begins four years after the events of the previous season. Assane remains in prison. As far as he is concerned, Lupin is over: his plan is to serve his sentence and keep the promise he made to his son to reunite the family in Senegal.

His plans are shattered, however, when a mysterious announcement signed by Lupin appears, declaring that several museums will be robbed simultaneously. Despite heightened security, every robbery takes place exactly as promised.

Assane insists he is innocent, but all the evidence points to him. A camera even captures him inside one of the museums during a robbery in which Captain Belkacem is seriously injured.

To prove his innocence and discover who is copying his methods, Assane will have to escape from prison and once again become Lupin.
