Streaming Top 10: November Brings New Chart Leaders

November begins by changing some of streaming’s leading players. The Gilded Age takes the lead among HBO Max series, Nocturne claims first place on Apple TV, and Netflix finds a new title ahead of Lupin in Taken: Natalee Holloway. But renewal has its limits: VisionQuest, The Terminal List and South Park continue to lead their platforms, while Disney+ movies are already making room for Christmas. The calendar changes, new releases compete for attention, and the catalog still knows exactly when to return.

This is a snapshot of the worldwide FlixPatrol rankings captured on November 6, compared with our edition based on October 30 data. As always, the service tracks relative popularity through positions on platforms’ public charts. These are not absolute viewer counts or viewing hours, nor do they measure total audiences over the seven days.

Netflix: Black Doves Enters a Busy Race

Among series, Taken: Natalee Holloway ranks first, followed by A Couple of Lies and Lupin. The French production, which led our previous snapshot, now sits in third place, while Dead-End Job comes fourth and Black Doves fifth. The second season therefore arrives in a chart where the familiarity of an established series must compete with other new offerings.

That fifth-place position deserves watching, particularly because the complete new season of Black Doves has only just arrived. The position records its starting point in this snapshot; it would still be too early to turn it into a verdict on the performance of Keira Knightley’s return. Meanwhile, The One About Matthew Perry, in sixth place, helps shape a list where true stories and fiction share the attention.

Among movies, Collision Course takes the lead previously held by Surviving Hurricane Otis. The second-place title appears abbreviated in the screenshot as A Dog’s Perfect…, while Heist completes the top three. Further down, Sing 2, in fourth, The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, in eighth, and Rush Hour, in tenth, show how recognizable catalog titles continue to find room among new releases.

HBO Max: The Russells Reclaim the Center of the Ballroom

The Gilded Age leads the series chart, ahead of Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage, which held first place in our previous snapshot, and War, now third. The Russells’ return puts the period drama at the center of the platform and offers a useful reminder: among so many properties associated with action, crime and fantasy, there is also room to turn a dinner, a wedding or a public humiliation into an event.

La Promesa ranks fourth, Crystal Lake fifth and Youth sixth. The range of genres makes it impossible to reduce HBO Max to a single identity, but The Gilded Age gives this week a very clear signature.

Among movies, The Legend of Tarzan, Feed and The Hunger Games occupy the top three positions. The shift from Doctor Sleep’s previous lead also marks the passing of Halloween: horror remains represented, but no longer defines the top of the chart on its own. The presence of four The Hunger Games titles among the top ten is the most striking feature of the list. When a franchise takes up that much space, the catalog stops functioning simply as a collection of individual films and begins to offer an entire viewing program.

Disney+: VisionQuest Leads as Christmas Approaches

VisionQuest retains the series lead, followed by The Remarried E…, as it appears in the screenshot, and All’s Fair. The Kardashians comes fourth, followed by Merry Berry Love and Grey’s Anatomy. It is a leading group that brings together Marvel, drama and celebrity entertainment, revealing the variety of audiences served by the platform.

WandaVision remains in the top ten, now ninth after ranking eighth in the previous edition. Its presence alongside VisionQuest offers a chance to observe the relationship between a current production and the story that preceded it. The chart does not prove that one brought viewers to the other, but their coexistence keeps that universe visible beyond the week’s release.

Among movies, the top three remain Moana, Coco and Toy Story 5. The most revealing activity comes immediately below: Home Alone ranks fourth, followed by The Grinch and How the Grinch Stole Christmas. Home Alone 2 appears in eighth place and The Nightmare Before Christmas in tenth. Halloween has barely left the stage, and Christmas viewing is already settling in.

Prime Video: Strength Lies in Continuity

The Terminal List remains first among series, followed by Carrie and Love in Disguise. Off Campus ranks fourth, Neagley fifth and Reacher sixth. The leader remains the same, but the list brings together different interests: there is room for the action universe associated with Jack Carr and for Lee Child’s, without romances and other offerings disappearing from the competition.

The most interesting result is precisely that coexistence. A platform can have a strong identity in a particular genre while depending on variety to keep the rest of its audience exploring.

Among movies, Apocalypse Z: New World takes first place, ahead of Drive – The Pretenders, the previous snapshot’s leader, and Love of Your Life. Another Apocalypse Z title appears in ninth place. As with The Hunger Games on HBO Max, the presence of more than one installment from the same property suggests an opportunity for consecutive viewing, although the chart alone cannot establish a specific reason for the movement.

Paramount+: South Park, Tulsa King and MobLand Hold the Top

South Park, Tulsa King and MobLand make up the series top three. The animated show retains the lead, but the two crime dramas immediately below reinforce Paramount+’s recurring association with families, organizations and power struggles. Marshals ranks fourth, followed by Yellowstone, expanding the presence of productions connected to a recognizable fictional landscape.

Dexter, in seventh place, and Dexter: Resurrection, in tenth, also coexist on the list. Once again, new releases and catalog titles appear side by side, offering routes both for those following a story and for those deciding to begin at its origins.

Among movies, Thieves Highway takes the lead, with Exit 8 second and Scary Movie third. The horror comedy, which led the previous edition, remains in the top three after Halloween. The Bayou, Monster Summer and Diablo follow, keeping suspense and horror strongly represented despite the change at number one.

Apple TV: Nocturne Moves Ahead of Ted Lasso

On Apple TV, Nocturne leads the series chart, followed by Stick and Ted Lasso, which held first place the previous week. The change matters because it puts another production ahead of one of the platform’s most recognizable titles without pushing the comedy out of the top three.

Slow Horses ranks fourth, Silo fifth and Dark Matter sixth. The latter was fourth in the previous snapshot and remains in the top ten after its season finale. Severance, in eighth place, reinforces the presence of mystery and science fiction stories that have become an important part of the service’s identity.

Among movies, Matchbox retains the lead, followed by Mayday and Tenzing. F1, in fifth place, remains on the list, as does The Gorge, in ninth. Renewal at the top of the series chart therefore coexists with greater stability in the movie lead.

The Week’s Bigger Picture

The first week of November moves at two speeds. Some platforms change leaders, while others keep the same titles in command. Netflix changes its number one in both categories; HBO Max finds its standout in The Gilded Age; Apple TV sees Nocturne move ahead of Ted Lasso. Disney+, Prime Video and Paramount+ retain the series leaders recorded in the previous edition.

Beneath those changes, the catalog tells a story of its own. The Hunger Games occupies several positions on HBO Max, WandaVision remains alongside VisionQuest, the two Dexter series share space on Paramount+, and Christmas begins to reshape Disney+. The competition is not confined to premieres. It also depends on which stories audiences choose to continue, revisit, or turn into a ritual.
